Felecity Willis
Felecity Willis (born October 31, 1978) is an American basketball referee and former player. She was a two-sport athlete for University of Arizona, playing college basketball and college softball for the Arizona Wildcats. She later played professional basketball for several years and was a member of the Puerto Rico national basketball team. Early life Willis attended Apple Valley High School in Apple Valley, California where she starred at basketball. College career She played college basketball and softball in the United States with the University of Arizona Wildcats. She was a All-Pac-10 Conference player in 1999 and 2000. Professional career Following her college career, Willis went on to play professionally. In 2002, she played for the Chicago Blaze of the NWBL. She also saw pre-season action in the WNBA, with the Los Angeles Sparks in 2000, the Charlotte Sting in 2001 and the Washington Mystics in 2003. Apple Valley High School (California)
Apple Valley High School (AVHS) is a public four-year high school located in Apple Valley, California, United States. It is a part of the Apple Valley Unified School District. Built in 1967, it was the only comprehensive high school in the Town of Apple Valley until 1999 when Granite Hills High School opened. The campus has expanded with growth and was modernized with local bond funds in 2002. Along with academic and co-curricular offerings, students have access to the more traditional school program of clubs, student government and sports. Mascot The school's mascot, Sparky the SunDevil, has been the center of controversy for many years. Over the history of the school, the character of the SunDevil has increasingly become more cartoon-like, as parents were upset with the Satanic references. National Women's Basketball League
The National Women's Basketball League, often abbreviated to the NWBL, was an organization governing professional basketball leagues for women in the United States. The league was founded in 1997 and began play in the Fall of that year. The league held its season during the off-season of the WNBA. During the WNBA off-season, some WNBA players would play in the NWBL. The league ceased operations in 2007. NCAA Division I Women's Basketball Tournament
The NCAA Division I women's basketball tournament is a single-elimination tournament played each spring in the United States, currently featuring 68 Women's sports, women's college basketball teams from the NCAA Division I, Division I level of the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA), to determine the national championship. The tournament was preceded by the AIAW women's basketball tournament, which was organized by the Association for Intercollegiate Athletics for Women (AIAW) from 1972 to 1982. Basketball was one of 12 women's sports added to the NCAA championship program for the 1981–82 school year, as the NCAA engaged in battle with the AIAW for sole governance of women's collegiate sports. Flowing Wells High School
Flowing Wells High School (est. 1954) is a secondary school in Tucson, Arizona. It is the primary high school in the Flowing Wells Unified School District, the other being Sentinel Peak High School. Curriculum Flowing Wells offers several AP courses, including Biology, Psychology, Environmental Science, Chemistry, U.S. History, European History, Macro/Micro Economics, English, Calculus, Spanish, and Statistics. AP Music Theory has also been offered in the past. The high school also places a high value on arts education and never charges students fees for sports participation. Flowing Wells awards two different kinds of diplomas, a standard or "blue" diploma matching state graduation requirements, and a "gold" advanced studies diploma. The Central American and Caribbean Games (CAC or CACGs) are a multi-sport regional championship event, held quadrennial (once every four years), typically in the middle (even) year between Summer Olympics.
