Clube Desportivo Feirense, commonly known as CD Feirense or just Feirense, is a Portuguese football club based in Santa Maria da Feira. Founded on 18 March 1918, Feirense play in the LigaPro, the second tier of Portuguese football. Their chairman is Kunle Soname and their manager is Filipe Martins. The club plays its home matches at the Estádio Marcolino de Castro, with a capacity of 5,500 spectators. History Founded in 1918, Feirense played only three Primeira Liga seasons in the 20th century – 1962–63, 1977–78 and 1989–90 – being relegated in each one. In 2009–10, the club came close to ending a two-decade exile but missed out on the last day, as local rivals S.C. Beira-Mar went up with Portimonense SC. The 2021–22 Liga Portugal 2, also known as Liga Portugal SABSEG for sponsorship reasons, was the 32nd season of Portuguese football's second-tier league, and the second season under the current Liga Portugal 2 title. 1989–90 Primeira Divisão
The 1989–90 Primeira Divisão was the 56th edition of top flight of Portuguese football. It started on 20 August 1989 with a match between Chaves and Penafiel, and ended on 20 May 1990. The league was contested by 18 clubs with Benfica as the defending champions. Porto qualified for the 1990–91 European Cup first round, Estrela da Amadora qualified for the 1990–91 European Cup Winners' Cup first round, and Benfica, Sporting CP and Vitória de Guimarães qualified for the 1990–91 UEFA Cup first round; in opposite, Portimonense and Feirense were relegated to the Liga de Honra. Nuno Manta Santos
Nuno Miguel Manta Ribeiro Santos, known as Nuno Manta or Nuno Manta Santos (born 25 July 1978) is a Portuguese football manager and a former player. Playing career Born in Santa Maria da Feira, he was known as Melão in his playing career as a midfielder. He represented G.C.D. Sanfins as a youth, and hometown club Juventude Atlética “os Amigos do Cavaco” as a senior, never any higher than the second regional level. Managerial career Manta worked in the ranks of his hometown's primary team C.D. Feirense, and he was the caretaker manager for one Segunda Liga game on 30 September 2012. Joaquim Machado Gonçalves (born 10 October 1966), known as Quim Machado, is a Portuguese former footballer who played as a right back, and is a current manager of Saudi club Al-Orobah. In his playing days, he achieved Primeira Liga totals of 255 games in the 1990s, in representation of six clubs. 2009–10 Liga De Honra
The 2009–10 Liga de Honra season (also known as Liga Vitalis due to sponsorship reasons) is the 20th season of the second-tier football in Portugal. It began on 13 August 2009 and will end on 9 May 2010. Olhanense are the defending champions. Teams Trofense were relegated to the Liga de Honra after finishing 16th and last in the Portuguese Liga 2008–09 season. Trofense were to be accompanied by Belenenses, who finished in 15th place. Belenenses were ending a ten-year stretch in the Portuguese top-level league, while Trofense returned to the Liga da Honra after just one year in the top flight. However, Estrela de Amadora, who finished in 11th place, were instead relegated to the Liga Vitalis for economic problems. José Albano Ferreira da Mota (born 25 February 1964) is a Portuguese retired footballer who played mainly as a right-back, currently a manager. He spent most of his playing career with Paços de Ferreira, where he also began his coaching career and won two Segunda Liga titles. In two decades as a manager he led eight teams in Primeira Liga, and won the Taça de Portugal for Aves in 2018.
