Fedora (1926 Film)
''Fedora'' is a 1926 German silent film based upon the play by Victorien Sardou, directed by Jean Manoussi and starring Lee Parry, Anita Dorris, and Alfons Fryland. Jean Manoussi (14 November 1868 - 21 December 1929) was a French dramatist, film director and screenwriter. Oskar Marion
Oskar Marion (2 April 1896 – March 1986) was an Austrian film actor. Life Born as Oskar Viktor Lepka in Brno on 2 April 1896. His parents were physician Antonín Lepka and Žofie Lepková (née Müller). Marion went to study medicine to Vienna, but after 1 year he had to enlist to be an ambulance driver, when World War I broke out. After the war ended he decided to become an actor. He worked at Wiener Kammerspiele, Brno City Theatre, Estates Theatre and several theatres in Berlin. From 1919 to 1940 he acted mostly in German and Austrian movies. He had a few roles in Czech movies, because he was fluent in both German and Czech. After the end of his acting career, he worked as an assistant director and producer in West Germany. Eduard Clemens Franz Anna Freiherr von Wangenheim (1 August 1871 – 22 July 1961), known as Eduard von Winterstein, was an Austrian-German film actor who appeared in over one hundred fifty German films during the silent and sound eras. He was also a noted theater actor. Biography Von Winterstein was born in Vienna on 1 August 1871 to landowner Hugo von Wangenheim and his second wife, Hungarian-born actress Aloysia "Luise" von Wangenheim-Dub. His predecessors were the Barons of Wangenheim. He took acting lessons from his mother, who had played at the Burgtheater in Vienna. Winterstein came to Gera in 1889 and acted in theaters along with his mother and sister Clementine, where he had "undeservedly forgotten" experiences. He acted in the play ' in 1893. Maria Forescu
Maria Forescu (15 January 1875 28 October 1947) was an Austro-Hungarian-born Romanian opera singer and film actress. During the silent and talkies era of the German cinema, she appeared in several movies as a supporting actress. When Adolf Hitler came to power, Forescu, like other Jews of that period, was barred from her profession. Living undercover during the later years of World War II, she survived the Holocaust and died in 1947 in East Berlin. Biography Forescu was born Maria Füllenbaum on 15 January 1875, in Czernowitz, Austria-Hungary. She attended a boarding school in Paris. She studied singing, music and drama at the Prague Conservatory. Around the turn of the century, she debuted as an operetta singer and soon became a well known member of the renowned Viennese Carl Theater.
