The Oceanic island nation of the Federated States of Micronesia competed at the 2012 Summer Olympics in London, held from 27 July to 12 August 2012. This was the nation's fourth consecutive appearance at the Olympics. Federated States of Micronesia National Olympic Committee (FSMNOC) exceeded by one its athletes sent to any of the previous three Olympic Games. Six athletes were selected to the team, competing in 4 different sports; two of them had competed in Beijing, including swimmer Kerson Hadley, who set his personal best in the men's freestyle event. The flag of the Federated States of Micronesia was adopted on 30 November 1978. The blue field represents the Pacific Ocean. In an echo of U.S. heraldic practice, the stars represent the four federated states: Chuuk, Pohnpei, Kosrae and Yap, arranged like the points of the compass. History The Trust Territory of the Pacific Islands was administered by the United States under the auspices of the United Nations after World War II. Keitani Graham
Keitani Graham (February 1, 1980 — December 6, 2012) was a Micronesian Greco-Roman wrestler. He competed in the Greco-Roman 84 kg event at the 2012 Summer Olympics and was eliminated in the qualifications by Charles Betts. Graham was born in Kealakekua, Hawaii and attended Punahou School in Honolulu and College of the Holy Cross in Worcester, Massachusetts. After college, he taught at Princess Ruth Ke’elikōlani Middle School. He died in Chuuk at the age of 32 after suffering a heart attack.
