The Federal Capital women's cricket team is the women's representative cricket team for the Islamabad Capital Territory. They competed in the Women's Cricket Challenge Trophy in 2011–12 and 2012–13. The Women's Cricket Challenge Trophy, officially the Shaheed Mohtarma Benazir Bhutto Women's Cricket Challenge Trophy, was a women's domestic Twenty20 competition that took place in Pakistan between 2011–12 and 2016–17. The tournament included both provincial and departmental teams, and took place alongside the National Women's Cricket Championship. Cricket is a bat-and-ball game played between two teams of eleven players on a field at the centre of which is a pitch with a wicket at each end, each comprising two bails balanced on three stumps. The Islamabad women's cricket team is the women's representative cricket team for Islamabad. They competed in the National Women's Cricket Championship between 2005–06 and 2017. History Islamabad joined the National Women's Cricket Championship for its second season in 2005–06, winning one of their two matches in the Rawalpindi Zone. The following season, 2006–07, the side qualified for the final stage of the competition after they won Group C, but lost both of their matches to finish third overall. Federal Areas Cricket Team
Federal Areas was a first-class cricket team in Pakistan based in the capital, Islamabad. Since February 2008 they have played 16 first-class matches in four seasons of the Pentangular Cup. Their home ground was the Diamond Club Ground in Islamabad. Background When the Pakistan Cricket Board revamped the Pentangular Cup for the 2007-08 season, they created the Federal Areas team to make a fifth competitor alongside the teams from the four provinces. In order to make the competition even, "the Pakistan Cricket Board selected the top 75 Quaid-e-Azam players plus 20 juniors and divided them mong the five teams mostly on a regional basis but reallocating some to strengthen the weaker sides."
