The Bolivian Football Federation (, ; FBF) is the governing body of football in Bolivia. It was founded in 1925, making it the eighth oldest South American federation. It affiliated to CONMEBOL and FIFA in 1926 and is in charge of Bolivia national football team. The FBF is the federation of two entities: * Bolivian Primera División (Bolivian Professional Football League): comprises the 12 professional football teams in the first division. * Asociación de Fútbol Nacional (ANF) (National Football Association): 9 departmental football associations, one from each of Bolivia's nine departments. CONMEBOL
CONMEBOL ( ) or CSF (; ; ), is the continental governing body of football in South America and it is one of FIFA's six continental confederations. The oldest continental confederation in the world, its headquarters are located in Luque, Paraguay. CONMEBOL is responsible for the organization and governance of South American football's major international tournaments. With 10 member football associations, it has the fewest members of all the confederations in FIFA. Adalberto Violand Alcázar (La Paz, — ) was a Bolivian businessman, ambassador and politician. He was also the president of the Bolivian Football Federation from 1959 to 1961. Early life Violand was born in 1918 in the city of La Paz, belonging to a family of German descent. He did his primary and secondary studies at the German School in the city of La Paz, where he graduated from high school in 1936. He continued with his higher education, moving to study in Hamburg where he obtained a master's degree in foreign trade. Violand always had a role oriented towards the political right of the country, where he played an important role as a manager in Bolivia's private company at critical political moments.
