Fed Up (film)
''Fed Up'' is a 2014 American documentary film directed, written and produced by Stephanie Soechtig. The film focuses on the causes of obesity in the US, presenting evidence showing large quantities of sugar in processed foods are an overlooked root of the problem, and points to the monied lobbying power of "Big Sugar" in blocking attempts to enact policies to address the issue. Synopsis ''Fed Up'' shows how the first dietary guidelines issued by the U.S. government 30 years ago overlooked the role of dietary sugar in increasing risks of obesity, diabetes, and associated ill-health outcomes, particularly in children. Since these guidelines effectively condoned the unlimited addition of sugar to foods consumed by children, sugar consumption has greatly increased, obesity has skyrocketed, and generations of children have grown up far fatter than their parents. These children face impaired health and shorter lifespans as a result. As the relationship between the high-sugar diet a ...

Ed The Sock
Ed the Sock is a sock puppet character, created and voiced by Steven Joel Kerzner, who first appeared on Canadian local cable television in 1987. He is best known for his hosting appearances in the 1990s on MuchMusic and his own late night talk show, '' Ed's Night Party''. He is a gray sock puppet with green hair, round eyes, a scowl, a cigar and a rough, gravelly voice. Since the acquisition of MuchMusic by Bell Media, causing the cancellation of the majority of its music programming, the Ed the Sock character has continued to be portrayed through FU Network and NewMusicNation. Kerzner and his wife have since been accused of not paying collaborators, and of defrauding others with their crowdfunding. History Origination of the Character: Newton Cable (1984–1993) Kerzner originated the character while working at Newton Cable, a small local station in Downsview, Ontario. During this time one of the public access shows the station produced needed a co-host on short noti ...

Fed Up! (book)
''Fed Up! Our Fight to Save America from Washington'' is a 2010 political non-fiction book authored by then Governor of Texas Rick Perry and his senior advisor Chip Roy, published by Little, Brown and Company. It was released shortly after Perry's re-election to a third term as governor. The book analyzes states' rights and the growing role of the federal government, demonstrating Perry's support for federalism. In the book, he argues that state sovereignty was dominant at the founding of the United States, but was lost through time as the federal government overreached through excessive spending, over-taxation and over-regulation. Perry feels that this has led to frustration among the populace, which gave rise to the Tea Party movement. The book charts a course to end the growth of the federal government. While the book takes aim at the political culture in Washington, D.C., it also promotes the concept of American exceptionalism, particularly in the view that the American people a ...

My Xperience
''My Xperience'' is a reggae album by Jamaican dancehall performer Bounty Killer, released in 1996 (see 1996 in music). Most of the songs on ''My Xperience'' are morose tales of poverty and violence. The album was listed in the 1999 book ''The Rough Guide: Reggae: 100 Essential CDs''.Barrow, Steve & Dalton, Peter (1999) ''Reggae: 100 Essential CDs'', Rough Guides, Reception The AllMusic review by Alex Henderson awarded the album 4.5 stars stating "Those who aren't big dancehall fans may find the hip-hop-influenced CD hard to get into; those who are heavily into it will find a lot to admire on My Xperience, which contains major dancehall hits like "Living Dangerously" and "Virgin Island." A variety of guests join Bounty—everyone from the Fugees on "Hip-Hopera" to reggae singer Barrington Levy on "Living Dangerously" to hardcore rapper Jeru t ...
