Fazio Fabbrini (5 February 1926 – 10 December 2018) was an Italian politician who served as a Senator (1968–1976) and the Mayor of Siena (1965–1966). Biography Fabbrini was born in Abbadia San Salvatore, Italy in 1926. His father, Alessandro, was a member of the Communist Party of Italy. During the Italian Civil War, Fabbrini was a anti-fascist partisan, participating in combat against the government of Benito Mussolini. After the war, he continued to remain involved in anti-fascist politics with the Communist Party. During the Ninth National Congress of the Communist Party of Italy, in 1962, Fabbrini was elected to the Central Committee of the party, a post he held until 1970. Senate (Italy)
The Senate of the Republic ( it, Senato della Repubblica), or simply the Senate ( it, Senato), is the upper house of the bicameral Italian Parliament (the other being the Chamber of Deputies). The two houses together form a perfect bicameral system, meaning they perform identical functions, but do so separately. Pursuant to the Articles 57, 58, and 59 of the Italian Constitution, the Senate has 200 elective members, of which 196 are elected from Italian constituencies, and 4 from Italian citizens living abroad. Benito Amilcare Andrea Mussolini (; 29 July 188328 April 1945) was an Italian politician and journalist who founded and led the National Fascist Party. He was Prime Minister of Italy from the March on Rome in 1922 until his deposition in 1943, and "Duce" of Italian Fascism from the establishment of the Italian Fasces of Combat in 1919 until his execution in 1945 by Italian partisans.
