Kerala Cricket Team
The Kerala cricket team is a domestic cricket team based in the Indian state of Kerala. It is in the Elite Group of the Ranji Trophy, the premier first class cricket tournament in India. It was known as Travancore-Cochin cricket team until 1957/58. Kerala has produced two Indian Test cricketers, Tinu Yohannan and S. Sreesanth. Sanju Samson has represented India in T20Is and ODIs, while Basil Thampi has a national call-up to his name. Cricket is a bat-and-ball game played between two teams of eleven players on a field at the centre of which is a pitch with a wicket at each end, each comprising two bails balanced on three stumps. 2017–18 Vijay Hazare Trophy
The 2017–18 Vijay Hazare Trophy was the 16th season of the Vijay Hazare Trophy, a List A cricket tournament in India. It was contested by the 28 domestic cricket teams of India. Tamil Nadu were the defending champions. In December 2017, the fixtures were brought forward to allow players to practice ahead of the 2018 Indian Premier League. Following the conclusion of the group stages, Baroda and Karnataka from Group A, Maharashtra and Delhi from Group B, Andhra and Mumbai from Group C, and Hyderabad and Saurashtra from Group D had progressed to the knockout stage of the competition.
