Fawkner Blues
Manningham United Blues Football Club is an Australian soccer club from Templestowe, a suburb of Melbourne, Victoria. The club was formed in 1965 by local Italian Australians and was formerly known as Fawkner Blues. In 2010, Fawkner SC split from the club. Manningham United plays their senior games at Pettys Reserve. History In 1999, the club, originally known as Manningham Juniors Soccer Club, had just three junior teams, with a committee led by Paul Martinello and Tari Mallia. Fawkner-Whittlesea Blues In 2004 Fawkner Blues merged with Whittlesea Stallions to form Fawkner-Whittlesea Blues. Their home games were played at Whittlesea's home stadium Epping Stadium. The merge only lasted until 2006. The club played in the 2005 and 2006 Victorian Premier League. In 2005 they finished fourth but only six points from first. The National Premier Leagues Victoria 2, commonly referred to as NPL Victoria 2, is a semi-professional soccer league in Victoria, Australia. The league is the second-highest in the Victorian league system, behind the National Premier Leagues Victoria, and forms the third tier of the overall Australian league system. Originally founded as NPL 1 in 2014, it has undergone several changes in competition structure since its inception. Comprising 14 teams in its first season, the league then featured 20 teams divided into two geographic East and West conferences from 2015–19. With the creation of NPL Victoria 3 in 2020, a state-wide second division was re-founded, comprising 12 clubs. Veneto Club
The Veneto Club is an Italian social club in Bulleen, Victoria, Australia. It was established in the late 1960s on a site in the eastern suburbs, which had become an attractive area for Italian migrants to move to from the working class inner suburbs, where they had established themselves. A substantial Brutalist style building was erected in 1972-73, to the design of the Italian émigré architect Ermin Smrekar. Located at 191 Bulleen Road Bulleen, the Veneto Club has its origins in the 1960s during informal gatherings of some Melbourne-based ‘Veneti’ gathered for social activities including Bocce games. In 1969 a group of Italian businessmen purchased 16 acres of land in Bulleen and erected a small shed, known as ‘la Baracca’, as a shelter and informal ‘clubhouse’.
