Fausto Rey
Fausto Ramón Sepúlveda (born December 1, 1951, in Higuey), known by his stage name Fausto Rey, is a Dominican singer. Rey is predominantly known as a crooner, with a versatile range including romantic ballads, boleros, waltz, salsa, merengues, bossa novas, blues, and jazz. He plays electric or acoustic guitar on many of his recordings, and also plays bass, piano and percussion. Life Born to Cristrobalina Sepúlveda, Rey was adopted by her husband Secundino De Aza, who was of Indian origin. Antolín Soler, Rey's biological father and a noted Dominican güira player, had little or no contact with his son in his early years, but they have since established a relationship. Rey worked as a shoeshine boy as a child, selling saint's images, candy, cornbread cooked by his mother, and tickets for the National Lottery. Larry Harlow Kahn (born Lawrence Ira Kahn; March 20, 1939 – August 20, 2021) was an American salsa music performer, composer, and producer. He was born into a musical American family of Jewish descent. Background Summary Harlow was born on March 20, 1939 in the Brownsville section of Brooklyn, the son of Rose (''née'' Rose Sherman; 1910–1975) and Buddy Kahn (''né'' Nathan Kahn; 1909–1981), and brother of Andy Harlow (''né'' Andre H. Horacio Malvicino (born 20 October 1929 in Concordia, Entre Ríos Province, Argentina) is a jazz and tango electric guitarist and composer who played for many years with the tango musician Ástor Piazzolla in several of his ensembles. Biography The son of Esteben Malvicino, a railway employee, Horacio grew up in Concordia where, between and ages of 6 and 14, he was taught to play the guitar by Augustin Satalia. His teacher would only allow him to play classical music and in those days jazz was rarely heard in the city. However, he got to know the music of the jazz guitarists Charlie Christian and Django Reinhardt and the jazz clarinetist Benny Goodman, by listening to a friend’s records of these musicians. He also listened to the tango music of Ástor Piazzolla's Orquesta Típica on Radio Splendid.
