Faustino López Vargas
Faustino López Vargas (27 September 1958 – 8 October 2022) was a Mexican politician from the Morena party. He served in the Senate representing the state of Tamaulipas from January 2022 until his death. He died in a car crash in Zacatecas. Life Medical career López Vargas received a medical degree from the Universidad del Noreste and served as a physician at rural clinics associated with the Mexican Social Security Institute in various localities in Oaxaca, including Santa María Xadani, Ejutla de Crespo, Huajuapan de León, and Santiago Jamiltepec. In 1987, he moved to his hometown of Aldama, Tamaulipas, where he opened a private medical practice that continued until 2001. He also served as a forensic physician in Aldama and the state capital of Ciudad Victoria and as a private physician to the National Banking Commission. ''El Financiero'' (, "The Financial") is a Mexican national daily newspaper covering business and the financial markets. Zacatecas City
Zacatecas () is the principal city within the municipality in Mexico of the same name, and the capital and the largest city of the state of Zacatecas. Located in north-central Mexico, the city had its start as a Spanish mining camp in the mid-16th century. Native Americans had already known about the area's rich deposits of silver and other minerals. Due to the wealth that the mines provided, Zacatecas quickly became one of the most important mining cities in New Spain. The area saw battles during the turbulent 19th century, but the next major event was the Battle of Zacatecas during the Mexican Revolution when Francisco Villa captured the town, an event still celebrated every anniversary. Today, the colonial part of the city is a World Heritage Site, due to the Baroque and other structures built during its mining days. Mining still remains an important industry. 2018 Mexican General Election
General elections were held in Mexico on 1 July 2018. Voters elected a new President of Mexico to serve a six-year term, 128 members of the Senate for a period of six years and 500 members of the Chamber of Deputies for a period of three years.
