Fauske (town)
is a town in Fauske Municipality in Nordland county, Norway. It is also the administrative centre of Fauske Municipality. The town is located on the shore of the Skjerstad Fjord, about east of the town of Bodø and about west of the border with Sweden. The lake Nervatnet lies on the southeast side of the town. The town has a population (2018) of 6,304 and a population density of . The town was established as a "town" in 1998 when the municipal council of Fauske Municipality designated it as such. It is the site of the local municipal government. Fauske Church and the Fauske Upper Secondary School are both located in the town as well. A historic area in the town is also part of the Nordland Museum. There is various types of industry in Fauske, especially industries related to the local mining of marble. Norwegian County Road 830
County Road 830 ( no, Fylkesvei 830) is a road in the municipality of Fauske in Nordland County, Norway. It runs between Finneid, where it branches off from European route E6, and the village of Sulitjelma, where it continues as County Road 543. The road was laid out along the bed of the former Sulitjelma Line railway, which was shut down in 1972. Work on converting the rail route for road traffic began on July 2, 1971. Over the course of three weeks, starting on July 24, 1972, the tracks were demolished and the road was made drivable. The Nordland Line ( no, Nordlandsbanen, ) is a railway line between Trondheim and Bodø, Norway. It is the longest in Norway and lacks electrification. The route runs through the counties of Trøndelag (formerly Sør-Trøndelag and Nord-Trøndelag) and Nordland, carrying a combination of commuter, long-haul passenger and freight trains. From Trondheim Central Station to Steinkjer Station the line is most heavily used, with hourly services by the Trøndelag Commuter Rail. European Route E06
European route E6 ( no, Europavei 6, sv, Europaväg 6, or simply E6) is the main north-south thoroughfare through Norway as well as the west coast of Sweden. It is long and runs from the southern tip of Sweden at Trelleborg, into Norway and through almost all of the country north to the Arctic Circle and Nordkapp. The route ends in Kirkenes close to the Russian border. Nordland Museum
Nordland Museum ( no, Nordlandsmuseet) is a museum located in the center of Bodø in Nordland, Norway. The museum is a central part of a larger consortium of 18 museum units in nine municipalities with the county of Nordland. Background The museum was established in 1888 as the Bodø Fisheries Museum (''Bodø Fiskerimuseum''). The majority of the museum's collections were destroyed during World War II when the museum was hit by two bombs on May 27, 1940. The museum building was also stripped of its function as a museum during the war, when it housed the Nasjonal Samling, a Norwegian fascist party active from 1933 to 1945.
