Sebastian Faulks
Sebastian Charles Faulks (born 20 April 1953) is a British novelist, journalist and broadcaster. He is best known for his historical novels set in France – '' The Girl at the Lion d'Or'', ''Birdsong'' and '' Charlotte Gray''. He has also published novels with a contemporary setting, most recently '' A Week in December'' (2009) and ''Paris Echo'', (2018) and a James Bond continuation novel, '' Devil May Care'' (2008), as well as a continuation of P.G. Wodehouse's Jeeves series, ''Jeeves and the Wedding Bells'' (2013). He was a team captain on BBC Radio 4 literary quiz '' The Write Stuff''. Biography Early life Faulks was born on 20 April 1953 in Donnington, Berkshire, to Peter Faulks and Pamela (née Lawless). Edward Faulks, Baron Faulks
Edward Peter Lawless Faulks, Baron Faulks, KC (born 19 August 1950), is an English barrister and unaffiliated peer who is the current Chairman of the Independent Press Standards Organisation (IPSO). Formerly a Conservative peer, he was Minister of State for Justice between December 2013 and July 2016. Background and education Faulks is the son of Peter Ronald Faulks MC, a circuit judge, and Pamela Faulks (''née'' Lawless). The novelist Sebastian Faulks is his younger brother. His uncle was Sir Neville Faulks, a High Court judge. He was educated at Wellington College and Jesus College, Oxford, where he graduated with an MA and of which he is an honorary fellow. Career Faulks was called to the Bar by the Middle Temple in 1973. He became a Queen's Counsel in 1996, an Assistant Recorder in 1996, and a Recorder in 2000. Neville Faulks
Sir Neville Major Ginner Faulks, MBE, TD (27 January 1908 – 13 October 1985) was an English barrister and High Court judge. Biography Faulks was the son of M. J. Faulks, and Ada Mabel Faulks; his brother Peter Ronald Faulks, MC was later a Circuit Judge, and was the father of author Sebastian Faulks and of barrister and minister Edward Faulks, Baron Faulks. Faulks was educated at Uppingham School and Sidney Sussex College, Cambridge. He was called to the bar at the Inner Temple in 1930, at the early age of 22. On the outbreak of the Second World War he joined the Territorial Army and saw action in North Africa, including at the Battle of El Alamein. He ended the war with the rank of lieutenant-colonel, was appointed an MBE, and twice mentioned in despatches. His legal career took off after the war. Peter Faulks
Peter Faullks (born 24 April 1988) is an Australian rules footballer for the Fremantle Football Club in the Australian Football League (AFL) and the Peel Thunder Football Club in the West Australian Football League (WAFL). Originally from the Calder Cannons in the TAC Cup, he played for Victoria in the 2006 AFL Under 18 Championships. He was then drafted by Sydney with the 65th selection in the 2006 AFL draft, but was delisted after two years at the club without making his AFL debut. Faulks then returned to Melbourne and played in the Victorian Football League, firstly for the Casey Scorpions in 2009 before switching to Williamstown in 2010. He performed well for Williamstown and was selected in the Victorian state team in 2010.
