Fatou Camara (journalist)
Fatoumata "Fatu" Camara (also ''Fatou Camara''; * 20th century in Banjul ) is a television presenter and journalist from the West African state of The Gambia. Early life and education Camara is the daughter of Modou Lamin Camara and Fatou Njie. She attended the Albion Primary School and then the Gambia High School. Career After finishing high school, she worked for Radio 1 FM and part-time from 1996 for the National Youth Service Scheme (NYSS), simultaneously with her job at Citizen FM . She left The Gambia in 1996 and studied media and communication in Birmingham. After returning to the Gambia, she worked as a reporter and news anchor for the Gambia Radio & Television Service (GRTS) until 2000 and again from 2002 to 2005. Fatou Kiné Camara (born 29 December 1964) is a Senegalese lawyer and women's rights campaigner. The daughter of a magistrate and government minister, Camara has a doctorate in law and works as a lecturer and researcher. She has supported campaigns for reform in many areas of the law and is particularly involved in attempting to increase the availability of abortions and free legal advice. Life Camara was born on 29 December 1964 in Dakar. Her father, Ousmane Camara, was a magistrate for the French colonial authorities. He was a minister in the government of Senegal's first president, Léopold Sédar Senghor. After Senghor's resignation in December 1980, her father became Senegal's ambassador to the United Kingdom and Camara joined him, completing her secondary education in London. She studied law at the Panthéon-Assas University (Sorbonne Law School) in Paris and attained a doctorate in the same subject from the Cheikh Anta Diop University in Dakar in 1988. Fatoumata Yarie Camara (born 15 February 1996) is a Guinean freestyle wrestler. She represented Guinea at the 2019 African Games and she won the bronze medal in the women's freestyle 62kg event. She won the silver medal in the 62kg event at the 2021 Islamic Solidarity Games held in Konya, Turkey. Career She competed in the women's 65kg event at the 2019 World Wrestling Championships held in Nur-Sultan, Kazakhstan. She qualified at the 2021 African & Oceania Wrestling Olympic Qualification Tournament to represent Guinea at the 2020 Summer Olympics in Tokyo, Japan. She competed in the women's 57kg event.
