Fatimah Busu
Fatimah Busu (born January 1943) is a Malaysian novelist, short-story writer, and academic. She is one of the leading contemporary authors of fiction in the Malay language, actively publishing since the 1970s. She is also the foremost Malay-language literary critic. Early life and career Fatimah was born in Kota Bharu in the north-eastern state of Kelantan, Malaysia. She attended her local Malay school in Kelantan before enrolling in the Malay Teacher's in Melaka. Fatimah worked as a teacher for almost ten years, until 1972, before then attending Universiti Sains Malaysia (USM) in Penang. Since her graduation she has been a member of staff at the university's Faculty of Humanities. Her literary career began with her short story ''Kerana Adik'' ('Because of a Younger Sibling'), published in the Singaporean magazine ''Mutiara'' in 1959. Kota Bharu
Kota Bharu, colloquially referred to as KB, is a town in Malaysia that serves as the state capital and royal seat of Kelantan. It is situated in the northeastern part of Peninsular Malaysia and lies near the mouth of the Kelantan River. Siti Zainon Ismail (born 18 December 1949) is a Malaysian novelist, short story writer, poet, and academic. She is best known for her multi-genre novel, ''Pulau Renik Ungu'' (The Island of Purple Crocus, 1995). Life and work Early life and education Between (1956-1961) Siti Zainon attended Sekolah Rendah Setapak in Kuala Lumpur and Sekolah Rendah Langgar in Kota Bharu in Kelantan. Siti Zainon's secondary education was spent in Sekolah Menengah Aminuddin Baki in Kuala Lumpur. During her childhood in Kota Bharu, she learned the art of batik painting. Salmi Manja
Saleha binti Abdul Rashid (24 July 1937 – 26 December 2023), better known by her pen name Salmi Manja, was a Malaysian novelist, poet, and journalist. She was among the first Malaysian professional women writers and best known for her 1960 novel ''Hari Mana Bulan Mana'' (What Day What Month). Femininity, women's issues, and Islam are recurring themes in her work. Biography Salmi went to Darul Maarif Arabic-language school and Tong Chai English School in Singapore.
