Fatih Kırtorun
Fatih Kırtorun (born 1985, Görele, Giresun) is a Turkish poet and translator. Personal life Born in Giresun, Görele, he moved to Istanbul and attended primary and high school in this city. He studied the English Language and Literature. Poetry He published his poem "Yitik Sayfalar Bilmecesi" (Lost Pages' Puzzle) in Varlık in 2006. He wrote a poem devoted to Bilge Karasu named "Öldürsen (G)e(ce)" (Night Tale) in Sözcükler. He took part in the Contemporary Turkish Language Magazine with his poem "Gölgesizlik". (Shadowless) He penned poems in Koridor Literary Magazine. Giresun
Giresun (), formerly Cerasus (Ancient Greek: Κερασοῦς, Greek: Κερασούντα), is the provincial capital of Giresun Province in the Black Sea Region of northeastern Turkey, about west of the city of Trabzon. Etymology Giresun was known to the ancient Greeks as ''Choerades'' or more prominently as Kerasous or Cerasus ( grc, Κερασοῦς), the origin of the modern name. The name Kerasous corresponds to κερασός (kerasós) " cherry" + -ουντ (a place marker). Thus, the Greek root of the word "cherry", κερασός (kerasós), predates the name of the city, and the ultimate origin of the word cherry (and thus the name of the city) is probably from a Pre-Greek substrate, likely of Anatolian origin, given the intervocalic σ in Κερασοῦς and the apparent cognates of it found in other languages of the region. Görele
Görele is a town and a district of Giresun Province on the Black Sea coast of eastern Turkey. The population was 16,033 in 2010. Geography The district is mainly mountainous and watered by streams and rivers running into the Black Sea, the highest peaks are Mount Sis and ''Haç'' (Haş). Up to 600m the hillsides are covered with hazelnuts, along with alder, poplars and other deciduous trees. The agriculture of the district is mainly hazelnuts along with some tea planting, beekeeping, and gardening for domestic consumption, while the higher elevations are forest and pasture. Recently trout farming has begun in the mountain waterways and more importantly the attractive high pasture lands have begun to attract visitors on trekking holidays. ''Varlık'' is a monthly Turkish literature and art magazine. Established by Yaşar Nabi Nayır, Sabri Esat Siyavuşgil, and Nahit Sırrı Örik in 1933, it often publishes poetry and works of famous Turkish poets and writers. History and profile ''Varlık'' was first published as a biweekly magazine in Ankara on 15 July 1933. The owner of the magazine Sabri Esat Siyavuşgil during the initial years. He was also cofounder of the magazine. The other founders include Yaşar Nabi Nayır and Nahit Sırrı Örik. In 1946 the magazine moved to Istanbul.
