Father Michael McGivney Catholic Academy
Father Michael McGivney Catholic Academy (commonly known as FMM) is a Catholic high school of the York Catholic District School Board. It is located at the intersection of 14th Avenue and McCowan Road in the city of Markham, Ontario. The school was founded by the York Catholic District School Board in 1989 and is named in honour of Father Michael J. McGivney, founder of the Knights of Columbus. The school is authorized as an International Baccalaureate World School. The school officially opened to students in September 1992. Students have the option of being enrolled in the International Baccalaureate program as of January 2011. Markham () is a city in the Regional Municipality of York, Ontario, Canada. It is approximately northeast of Downtown Toronto. In the 2021 Census, Markham had a population of 338,503, which ranked it the largest in York Region, fourth largest in the Greater Toronto Area (GTA), and 16th largest in Canada. The International Baccalaureate (IB), formerly known as the International Baccalaureate Organization (IBO), is a nonprofit foundation headquartered in Geneva, Switzerland, and founded in 1968. Michael Zigomanis
Michael Zigomanis (born January 17, 1981) is a Canadian former professional ice hockey centre. Zigomanis was drafted twice. In the 1999 NHL Entry Draft he was selected 64th overall by the Buffalo Sabres, but was not signed. He re-entered for the 2001 NHL Entry Draft and was selected by the Carolina Hurricanes 46th overall. Zigomanis was born in North York, Ontario, but grew up in Markham, Ontario. Jordan Robert Romano (born April 21, 1993) is a Canadian professional baseball pitcher for the Toronto Blue Jays of Major League Baseball (MLB). High school and college Romano attended Father Michael McGivney Catholic Academy in his home town of Markham, Ontario. A standout athlete, he excelled in baseball, basketball, soccer, and volleyball. Undrafted out of high school, he then attended Connors State College. In his first season for Connors State, Romano pitched to a 0–1 win–loss record, 8.68 earned run average (ERA), and 14 strikeouts in 9 innings. Burd & Keyz is a Canadian hip-hop and R&B production group from Markham, Ontario, Canada. Some notable acts they have produced for are Kardinal Offishall, MGK, Meek Mill, Pusha T, and more recently A$AP Ferg, Fabolous, and French Montana. Music career Andrew "Burd" Liburd and Anthony "Durty Keyz" James, were raised together in the Toronto suburb of Markham. Phylicia George (born November 16, 1987) is a Canadian Olympic track and field athlete and bobsledder. Career Hurdles George competed at the 2011 World Championships in Daegu, South Korea reaching the final in the 100m hurdles.
