Fastaval
Fastaval is an annual gaming convention in Hobro, Denmark, with focus on role-playing games, live action role-playing games, board games, miniature wargaming and collectible card games. The first many years was held in or around Aarhus but the 2011 Fastaval was held in Silkeborg while the conventions from 2012 to 2016 were held at Mariagerfjord Gymnasiet in Hobro. The convention has been held on the long weekend of Easter since 1986, with the exception of 1988 and 2020. It was held digital in 2021. The Otto Since 1992, Fastaval has presented awards to individuals and role-play scenarios in the form of gilded plaster penguins named Otto. The prizes are awarded at a banquet on the final day of the Fastaval event. The award inherited its name from a character in the 1989 game called ''Ulloq Nunaqarfinnguagaluami''. Emily Care Boss
Emily Care Boss is an indie roleplaying game designer, theorist and publisher. She was a foundational member of The Forge, an early leader in the indie role-playing game movement and is considered the creator of the American Freeform genre of roleplaying games, which combine indie RPG principles and mechanics with Nordic freeform and American chamber live action role-playing techniques. Her game, ''Under My Skin'' was winner of the Audience Choice Award at Fastaval 2009. She has been referred to as the "Dean" of the North American school of structured freeform game design. Career Emily Care Boss got involved with role playing games while at college in the 1990s, playing ''Ars Magica'' using a shared world setting created by friends. Kult (role-playing Game)
''Kult'' (Swedish for "Cult", stylized as KULT) is a contemporary horror role-playing game originally created by Gunilla Jonsson and Michael Petersén with illustrations by Nils Gulliksson, first published in Sweden by Äventyrsspel (later Target Games) in 1991. ''Kult'' is notable for its philosophical and religious depth as well as for its mature and controversial content. The first English edition was published in 1993 by Metropolis Ltd. In 1995, translated the second Swedish edition into French. In 2018 current licensor Helmgast released the fourth edition called Kult: Divinity Lost created by Robin Liljenberg and Petter Nallo. Jared A. Sorensen is an indie role-playing game designer whose works include ''InSpectres'', '' octaNe'', and ''Lacuna Part I.'' Career Jared Sorensen was a member of the website The Forge, and later became an indie publisher. Sorensen designed the ''Schism'' mini-supplement for '' Sorcerer'' which was published as a PDF by Adept Press in 2001.
