Farrar's Island
Farrar's Island is a peninsula on the west side of the James River in Chesterfield County, Virginia. It is the site of the Dutch Gap Conservation Area and Boat Landing and the Henricus Historical Park. Originally, Farrar's Island was formed by a meander loop in the James River and lay on the east side of the James River. At its smallest point, the neck of the peninsula was less than 400 feet wide. At that time, Farrar's Island was slightly less than 700 acres and lay about south of the James River fall line at Richmond, Virginia. Due to its strategic location on the river, the neck of the peninsula became the site of the earliest English settlements in Virginia, Henricus, was founded by Sir Thomas Dale in 1611. Marvin, Welch & Farrar
Marvin, Welch & Farrar ( MWF) were a 1970s British and Australian popular music group formed by Hank Marvin and Bruce Welch, both members of The Shadows – as a change of direction manoeuvre during 1970 to 1973 – and John Farrar (ex- The Strangers). The distinction was that while The Shadows were famous for their instrumental work, Marvin Welch & Farrar were a trio, vocal harmony group. Farrar, Missouri
Farrar is an unincorporated community in Salem Township in eastern Perry County, Missouri, United States. It is located eight miles east of Perryville, ninety miles south of Saint Louis and 3.7 miles from the Mississippi River. History The original German-Saxon settlement was known as Salem and was centered on the Salem Lutheran Church built in 1859. In 1890, R.P.Farrar opened the Farrar General Store. Originally, mail had been brought in from the nearby town of Schalls and handed out on the church steps after Sunday services, until 1892 when R.P.Farrar rode by horseback to Jefferson City to make a request for a post office. Upon arriving, he learned that the name Salem had already been taken. Cape Farrar (french: Cap d'Farrar) is a cape located along the Boothia Peninsula of the Kitikmeot Region near Taloyoak in the Canadian province of Nunavut, approximately 2,900 km northwest of Ottawa. Geography James Ross Strait and the St. Roch Basin separate the cape and Boothia Peninsula from King William Island to the west. The community of Taloyoak lies to the northeast of the cape. Farrar is an unincorporated community in Polk County, Iowa, United States. An unused elementary school building and one church are located in Farrar and 13 houses. The mayor of Farrar is Zach Stiles. Farrar is an unincorporated community in Limestone County, in North Central Texas, United States. History The area was first settled in the 1850s, but it was only in the 1880s when the settlement of Farrar was finally formed. The community was named in honor of Lochlin Johnson Farrar from DeKalb County, Georgia, who had studied and worked as a lawyer in Atlanta, Georgia before moving to Limestone County in 1859. Starting in 1884 with a population of just twenty-five, the community slowly grew to seventy-five by 1914. Farrar, Northern Territory
Farrar is an outer eastern suburb of Palmerston. It is 21 km SE of the Darwin CBD. Its Local Government Area is the City of Palmerston. Farrar is bounded to the north and east by the Stuart Highway, to the west Roystonea Avenue. Farrar was originally part of Gunn when Palmerston was divided into suburbs in 1984. The development of Palmerston's eastern suburbs did not start in the 1990s as designed in 1984 and the suburb of Gunn of 1998 was larger.
