Farmall Britain
International Harvester's Farmall brand of tractors were built in the United Kingdom between 1949 and 1970. The Farmall name was applied sparingly to International Harvester's UK products, appearing only as the BM, BMD and B-450. History The International Harvester Company of Great Britain (IHGB) was established in 1906 to sell International Harvester equipment in the United Kingdom. Manufacturing was eventually established in Doncaster, at a plant on Wheatley Hall Road, in 1949. In 1954 a second plant opened in Bradford, operating until 1982. A second Doncaster plant opened at Carr Hill in 1964. Farmall BM and BMD Production of the Farmall BM from imported parts started at Doncaster in 1949. The BM was a Farmall M, usually equipped with a wide front axle rather than the narrow wheels popular in North America. The BMD diesel-engined version was offered beginning in 1952. International Harvester
The International Harvester Company (often abbreviated by IHC, IH, or simply International ( colloq.)) was an American manufacturer of agricultural and construction equipment, automobiles, commercial trucks, lawn and garden products, household equipment, and more. It was formed from the 1902 merger of McCormick Harvesting Machine Company and Deering Harvester Company and three smaller manufactures: Milwaukee; Plano; and Warder, Bushnell, and Glessner (manufacturers of Champion brand). In the 1980s all divisions were sold off except for International Trucks, which changed its parent company name to Navistar International (NYSE: NAV). Its brands included McCormick, Deering, and later McCormick-Deering, as well as International. Along with the Farmall and Cub Cadet tractors, International was also known for the Scout and Travelall vehicle nameplates. Farmall
Farmall was a model name and later a brand name for tractors manufactured by International Harvester (IH), an American truck, tractor, and construction equipment company. The Farmall name was usually presented as McCormick-Deering Farmall and later McCormick Farmall in the evolving brand architecture of IH. Farmall was a prominent brand in the 20th-century trend toward the mechanization of agriculture in the US. Its general-purpose machines' origins were in row-crop tractors, a category that they helped establish and in which they long held a large market share. During the decades of Farmall production (1920s to 1980s), most Farmalls were built for row-crop work, but many orchard, fairway, and other variants were also built. Doncaster (, ) is a city in South Yorkshire, England. Named after the River Don, it is the administrative centre of the larger City of Doncaster. Bradford
Bradford is a city and the administrative centre of the City of Bradford district in West Yorkshire, England. The city is in the Pennines' eastern foothills on the banks of the Bradford Beck. Farmall M
The Farmall M is a large three-plow row crop tractor produced by International Harvester under the Farmall brand from 1939 to 1953. It was of International Harvester's "List of International Harvester vehicles#Farmall F and Letter Series (1924–1954), letter series". It succeeded the Farmall F-30. The M was incrementally updated with new model numbers as the Super M, Super M-TA, 400, and 450, but remained essentially the same machine. The original M used an International Harvester C248 4-cylinder in-line engine. Production of all versions lasted until 1954.
