Farm To Table (album)
''Farm to Table'' is the second studio album by American indie rock musician Bartees Strange, released on 4AD on June 17, 2022. The album has been met with positive reviews for its stylistic variety and emotionally deep lyrics. Recording and release The album title refers to Strange's upbringing in rural Oklahoman farms to now having a seat at the table with music industry success. This is his first album released by 4AD and was recorded during the COVID-19 pandemic, when Strange was not able to perform live. He felt musically inspired after finishing his debut full-length '' Live Forever'' and began recording this follow-up the day before that album was released. Bartees Strange
Bartees Leon Cox Jr., (born January 30, 1989) known by his stage name Bartees Strange, is an English-born American musician. Cox was born in Ipswich, England, raised in Mustang, Oklahoma, and is now based in Washington D.C. Early life Cox was born in Ipswich, England, to a military father and opera-singer mother. The family moved from England to Germany, Greenland and various US states before settling in Mustang, Oklahoma, when he was aged 12. Before becoming a musician, Cox worked as the director of communications for a nonprofit environmental organization in Washington D.C. Career While living in Brooklyn, Cox was a member of post-hardcore band Stay Inside from 2016 to 2018. In late 2017, Cox released his first solo effort, the acoustic folk EP "Magic Boy" under the name Bartees & The Strange Fruit. Programming is a form of music production and performance using electronic devices and computer software, such as sequencers and workstations or hardware synthesizers, sampler and sequencers, to generate sounds of musical instruments. Slide Guitar
Slide guitar is a technique for playing the guitar that is often used in blues music. It involves playing a guitar while holding a hard object (a slide) against the strings, creating the opportunity for glissando effects and deep vibratos that reflect characteristics of the human singing voice. Jim Ward (musician)
James David Ward (born September 19, 1976) is an American musician. A self-taught guitarist and pianist, he is the lead singer and rhythm guitarist for the band Sparta; he is also a co-founder of the post-hardcore band At the Drive-In, which he formed in 1993 when he was 17 years old. At the Drive-In While in At the Drive-In, Ward played guitar and sang backup vocals, as well as playing piano and keyboards on select songs. Sparta (band)
Sparta is an American rock band from El Paso, Texas, formed in 2001. The band currently consists of Jim Ward (vocals, guitar) and Matt Miller (bass), who are touring as a three-piece with rotating session drummers. Founding members Ward, Paul Hinojos, and Tony Hajjar were members of post-hardcore group At the Drive-In, forming Sparta in 2001 after the break-up of their former band. The band entered a hiatus from 2008 onwards for Ward to focus on his solo career and side projects, reuniting from 2011 to 2013 for a series of shows and permanently reuniting in 2017. Cassandra Jenkins is an American musician, singer and songwriter based in Brooklyn, New York, United States. Early life and education Cassandra Jenkins was born into a musical New York family. Her parents played on cruise ships in the 1980s. She learned how to play guitar and sing at a young age. Before the age of 12, she toured with her family band playing folk music at festivals.
