Farm to Market Road 4 (FM 4) is a farm to market road in the U.S. state of Texas, maintained by the Texas Department of Transportation (TxDOT), that runs between the cities of Grandview and Jacksboro. The route was designated in March 1942. , FM 4 is one of the longest Farm to Market Roads in the state of Texas. Route description The southern terminus of FM 4 is at Texas State Highway 81 (SH 81) in Grandview. FM 4 proceeds through the city and passes the Grandview Cemetery. It then passes through several small communities, including Sand Flat, before reaching the city of Cleburne, where it has a concurrency with SH 171/ SH 174. FM 4 passes Cleburne Municipal Airport before exiting the city at its junction with US 67. Grandview is a city in Johnson County, Texas, United States. The population was 1,561 at the 2010 census and an estimated 1,753 in 2018. David's Supermarkets, an independent chain of grocery stores, was headquartered in Grandview before being acquired by Brookshire Brothers in 2014. State Highway 171 (SH 171) is a southeast–northwest state highway in northeastern Texas, United States, that connects U.S. Highway 84 (US 84) in Mexia with U.S. Highway 180 (US 180) in Weatherford. Route description SH 171 begins at an intersection with US 84 in Mexia, before quickly intersecting State Highway 14. Leaving the town, SH 171 runs northwest to Tehuacana, before running in a more west direction to Coolidge. State Highway 81 (SH 81) is a Texas state highway that runs from Hillsboro to Grandview. It was designated in 1991 to replace U.S. Highway 81, which was decommissioned south of Fort Worth. Route description SH 81 begins along the ramp from northbound I-35's exit 364B; the route is accessible from the southbound freeway at exit 364A for FM 310. It travels north into Hillsboro along Abbott Avenue. SH 81 has a half-mile concurrency with SH 22/ SH 171 through the city's downtown before continuing northward along Waco Street. At the northern edge of Hillsboro, the highway has an interchange with Spur 579, which provides access to I-35, as well as US 77, just south of the point at which the freeway splits into I-35W and I-35E.
