Farid Elias Khazen
Farid Elias Khazen (also Farid Elias el-Khazen ar, فريد إلياس الخازن) is a Lebanese politician and professor of political science at the American University of Beirut. Member of Lebanese Parliament and Ambassador since 2018. Education Farid el Khazen studied Architecture and Social Sciences at the American University of Beirut from 1977 to 1979. He then received his MA and, subsequently, a PhD in International Relations from the Johns Hopkins University , School of Advanced International Studies (SAIS) in 1988. He also earned a Bachelor's degree in Economics from Missouri State University . In addition, he briefly joined the graduate program at Cornell University. Career Farid el Khazen had been a professor of Politics, and from 2000 to 2005 Chairman of the Department of Political Studies and Public Administration at the American University of Beirut. Lebanese People
The Lebanese people ( ar, الشعب اللبناني / ALA-LC: ', ) are the people inhabiting or originating from Lebanon. The term may also include those who had inhabited Mount Lebanon and the Anti-Lebanon Mountains prior to the creation of the modern Lebanese state. The major religious groups among the Lebanese people within Lebanon are Shia Muslims (27%), Sunni Muslims (27%), Maronite Christians (21%), Greek Orthodox Christians (8%), Melkite Christians (5%), Druze (5.2%), Protestant Christians (1%). The largest contingent of Lebanese, however, comprise a diaspora in North America, South America, Europe, Australia and Africa, which is predominantly Maronite Christian. As the relative proportion of the various sects is politically sensitive, Lebanon has not collected official census data on ethnic background since 1932 under the French Mandate. Michel Aoun
Michel Naim Aoun ( ar, ميشال نعيم عون ; born 30 September 1933) is a Lebanese politician and former military general who served as the President of Lebanon from 31 October 2016 until 30 October 2022. Born in Haret Hreik to a Maronite Christian family, Aoun joined the Military Academy in 1955 and graduated as an artillery officer in the Lebanese Army. In 1984, he became the youngest Commander of the Army, at the age of 49 years. Khazen Family
Khazen (also El-Khazen, Al-Khazen, Khazin or De Khazen, ar, آل الخازن, is a prominent Levantine family and clan based in Keserwan District, Lebanon, Damascus, Syria, Nablus, Palestine, as well as other districts around the Levant, predominantly in the Galilee in Israel. The family were very influential within the Maronite Church. Several members have played leading roles in politics for many generations.
