"Farhampton" is the premiere episode of the eighth season of the CBS sitcom ''How I Met Your Mother'', and 161st overall. It aired on September 24, 2012, and it gained mixed reviews. "The Magician's Code" is the hour-long final episode of the seventh season of the CBS sitcom ''How I Met Your Mother''. It aired in two half-hour parts on May 14, 2012. Craig David Thomas is an American television writer who, along with writing partner Carter Bays, has written episodes of '' American Dad!'', ''Oliver Beene'', ''Quintuplets'' and the hit CBS sitcom '' How I Met Your Mother'', which they created in 2005. Bays co-created the CBS sitcom '' How I Met Your Mother'' where he served as showrunner, writer and executive producer for all nine seasons. The show received ten Primetime Emmy Awards.
