Fareham Town F.C. is a football club based in Fareham, Hampshire, England. The club is affiliated to the Hampshire Football Association, and is an FA Charter Standard club. They play in the . History Fareham Town were formed in 1947, when three local sides Fareham FC, Fareham Brotherhood FC and Fareham Youth Centre FC amalgamated together after at a public meeting in the town in 1946, it was suggested to form a football club for the town. The club joined the Portsmouth League and started playing their games at Beaconsfield Meadow, before moving to Bath Lane. At the end of the 1948–49 season the club gained promotion to Division 3 (East) of the Hampshire League, and gained promotion to Division Two as champions at the first attempt. The club made further progress in the 1952–53 season when they finished as Runners-up in Division Two to gain promotion to Division One. Fareham
Fareham ( ) is a market town at the north-west tip of Portsmouth Harbour, between the cities of Portsmouth and Southampton in south east Hampshire, England. It gives its name to the Borough of Fareham. It was historically an important manufacturer of bricks, used to build the Royal Albert Hall, and grower of strawberries and other seasonal fruits. Current employers include Fareham Shopping Centre, small-scale manufacturers, and the Defence Science and Technology Laboratory. Mark Chamberlain
Mark Valentine Chamberlain (born 19 November 1961) is an English former international footballer. He is the younger brother of Neville Chamberlain, and the father of Liverpool and England international player Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain and Aldershot Town's Christian Oxlade-Chamberlain. He began his professional playing career with Port Vale in 1978, where he remained for four years before being sold on to rivals Stoke City, having already been selected for the PFA Fourth Division Team of the Year in 1981–82. In 1985, he signed with Sheffield Wednesday, before he moved on to Portsmouth three years later. He remained with "Pompey" until 1994, at which point he transferred to Brighton & Hove Albion. Ken Todd
Kenneth Todd (born 24 August 1957) is an English former footballer who scored 11 goals in 52 games in the English Football League for Wolverhampton Wanderers, Port Vale, and Portsmouth in the late 1970s. Despite being bought for £37,000 by Vale and £20,000 by "Pompey", he dropped into the Southern League with Fareham Town and Waterlooville. Career Wolverhampton Wanderers Todd began his career at Sammy Chung's Wolverhampton Wanderers, having been scouted by Joe Mycock, who lived opposite his school in Staindrop. Richie Moran (footballer)
Richard "Richie" Moran (born 9 September 1963) is a former professional footballer who played in the Football League for Birmingham City. He played as a centre forward. Career Moran was born in London to Nigerian parents. He attended primary school in ethnically-diverse south-east London, but was then adopted by an Anglo-Irish family (Patrick and Daphne Moran) and attended Brune Park secondary school in Gosport, Hampshire, a predominantly white area. Thomas McGhee
Thomas Edward "Tommy" McGhee (10 May 1929 – 19 May 2018) was a footballer best known for his spell at Portsmouth FC during the 1950s, making 136 appearances which gained him England recognition at Amateur and 'B' level. Football career Early years Early in his boyhood, McGhee caught the football bug when going to watch his uncle play in the Manchester Amateur League. At the age of twelve he started taking a serious interest in playing when he became a permanent member of the St. Teresa's School team. Dave Leworthy
David Leworthy (born 22 October 1962) is a retired English footballer who played as a centre forward. Career Leworthy started his career with his hometown club Portsmouth. After spending 9 years with Pompey, from the age of 10, he moved to Non-League Fareham Town where his prolific goalscoring record there earned him a dream move to Tottenham Hotspur. Leworthy made his Spurs debut in the North London derby, against arch rivals Arsenal, that ended in a 2–0 defeat at White Hart Lane in front of a crowd of 40,399 on 17 April 1985. Ian Martin Juryeff (born 24 November 1962) is an English former professional footballer who played as a forward for various Football League clubs in the 1980s and 1990s. He started his career as a trainee with Southampton, but only made two substitute appearances in the First Division in 1983 before being released. After several loan spells, he then had a ten-year career in the lower leagues, including over four years at Orient. After ceasing to play in the Football League, he qualified as a sports scientist and was employed as a community football development officer, while continuing to play non-league football on a part-time basis. Ross J. Irwin (born 9 May 1960) is a Scottish former professional footballer. He played for Fareham Town F.C. (England), FC Stade Nyonnais (Switzerland), the Bahama Royals (Bahamas) and the Boston Bolts and Albany Capitals of the American Soccer League.
