Fanshawe College
Fanshawe College of Applied Arts and Technology, commonly shortened to Fanshawe College, is a public college in Southwestern Ontario, Canada. One of the largest colleges in Canada, it has campuses in London, Simcoe, St. Thomas and Woodstock with additional locations in Southwestern Ontario. Fanshawe has approximately 43,000 students and provides over 200 higher education programs. History In 1962, the Ontario Vocational Centre (OVC) was founded in London, Ontario, and held its first classes on September 28, 1964. In 1967, it became Fanshawe College, part of a provincial system of applied arts and technology colleges. Fanshawe subsequently established campuses in Woodstock, St. Thomas, and Simcoe. The London campus originally consisted of three buildings, but has since been subject to a series of extensions. Peter Devlin (Canadian Army Officer)
Lieutenant General Peter John Devlin was a senior officer in the Canadian Army and is currently President of Fanshawe College. He served as Commander of the Canadian Army from 2010 to 2013. Military career Educated at the University of Western Ontario, Devlin was commissioned into The Royal Canadian Regiment, having joined the Canadian Forces in 1978. Devlin served in an operational role in Cyprus between 1984 and 1985 and in the Former Yugoslavia in 1992, 1996 and 1998. In 1994, following his experiences in the Former Yugoslavia, Devlin published a report which was critical of the fact that the international community "had no International Peacekeeping Training Centre". Emm Gryner
Emm Gryner (born 8 June 1975 in Sarnia, Ontario) is a Canadian-Filipino singer, songwriter, recording artist, and author. She has released 20 albums as a solo performer, and has collaborated with artists including David Bowie and Chris Hadfield. Early life Gryner's childhood was spent in Forest, Ontario. Her father was of half Irish heritage and her mother was Filipina. She started to learn piano at age 4, picked up bass around age 14, and later took up guitar as well. David Willsie
David Willsie (born March 28, 1968) is a Canadian coach and former Wheelchair rugby player. Early life Willsie was born on March 28, 1968, in Dorchester, Ontario, Canada to parents John and Jean. His father was an international ice hockey referee and his cousin Brian Willsie played in the National Hockey League. Willsie was born and raised in London, Ontario and earned a marketing diploma from Fanshawe College. Willsie was a semi-pro baseball player and a cross-country runner before being left quadriplegic following a recreational hockey game in 1995.
