Fang Dianrong
Fang Dianrong (; born 1949) is a retired lieutenant general (''zhong jiang'') of the People's Liberation Army Air Force (PLAAF) of China. He served as commander of the Chengdu Military Region Air Force and deputy commander of the Chengdu MR from 2003 to 2013. Biography Fang Dianrong was born in Muling, Heilongjiang Province. He enlisted in the PLAAF in July 1966, and was trained at the PLAAF No. 7 Aviator School. Starting in 1969 he served as a fighter pilot in the 18th Fighter Division, and later rose to deputy commander of the 7th Corps, and commander of the 9th Corps. He was then promoted to chief of staff of the Chengdu Military Region Air Force (MRAF), and deputy commander. He attained the rank of major general in 1996. In July 2003, he became commander of the Chengdu MRAF and concurrently deputy commander of the Chengdu MR. A year later he was promoted to the rank of lieutenant general. Chengdu Military Region
The Chengdu Military Region was one of seven military districts and is located in the southwest of the People's Republic of China, covering Chongqing, Sichuan, Yunnan, Guizhou, and the Xizang/Tibet Autonomous Region. It includes some of the area previously within the Kunming Military Region and has its headquarters in Chengdu. It was probably established in 1955. The Tibet Military Region was reduced to the status of a district in 1971. The region was disbanded during the 2015 People's Republic of China military reform and become part of the Western Theater Command. Organisation In 2005, the International Institute for Strategic Studies attributed the region with some 180,000 personnel, with four motorised infantry divisions, one artillery division, two armoured brigades, one artillery brigade, and two anti-aircraft brigades. ''Ta Kung Pao'' (; formerly ''L'Impartial'') is the oldest active Chinese language newspaper in China. Founded in Tianjin in 1902, the paper is state-owned, controlled by the Liaison Office of the Central Government after the Chinese Civil War. It is widely regarded as a veteran pro-Beijing newspaper. National Chengchi University () is a public research university in Taipei. The university is also considered as the earliest public service training facility of the Republic of China. Wang Chaoqun
Wang Chaoqun (; born November 1942) is a retired lieutenant general (''zhong jiang'') of the People's Liberation Army Air Force (PLAAF) of China. He served as Deputy Commander of the PLAAF and Commander of the Chengdu Military Region Air Force. Biography Wang Chaoqun was born in November 1942 in Jiading, Shanghai. He enlisted in the PLAAF in July 1959, and was trained at the PLAAF No. 5 Aviator School. He later graduated from the PLA National Defence University. Wang was appointed chief of staff of the Beijing Military Region Air Force in October 1992, and deputy commander of the Beijing MRAF in December 1995. In December 2000, he was promoted to commander of the Chengdu Military Region Air Force and concurrently deputy commander of the Chengdu MR. People's Liberation Army Air Force
The People's Liberation Army Air Force (PLAAF; ), also known as the Chinese Air Force (中国空军) or the People's Air Force (人民空军), is an aerial service branch of the People's Liberation Army, the regular armed forces of the People's Republic of China. The PLAAF was officially established on 11 November 1949 and it is composed of 5 branches which are aviation, anti-aircraft artillery, surface-to-air missiles (SAM), radar, and Airborne Corps.
