Fan Expo Dallas
Fan Expo Dallas, previously known as Dallas Comic Con (or DCC for short), is a three-day speculative fiction, (including comic books and gaming) fan convention held annually in the Dallas, Texas area. Larger in scale than the Dallas Fan Days events under the same management, Fan Expo Dallas focuses on comic book artists, writers, and publishers. These events usually also feature question and answer sessions, a large dealers room, and autograph-signing with a number of famous comic and media guests. The event is produced by Informa doing business as Fan Expo HQ. History In 2002, Ben Stevens, producer of the Sci-Fi Expo (1994–present), and Philip Wise, owner orebelscum.comand theforce.net, brought on consultant Mark Walters (of the defunct Dallas Fantasy Fair, who had staged the Dallas Comic & Toy Fest from 2000 to 2002) and produced the first Dallas Comic Con. Speculative Fiction
Speculative fiction is a term that has been used with a variety of (sometimes contradictory) meanings. The broadest interpretation is as a category of fiction encompassing genres with elements that do not exist in reality, recorded history, nature, or the present universe. Kerry Gammill (born April 26, 1954) is an American artist who has worked in the fields of comic books, special effects, storyboards, and character designs. As a comic book artist, he is best known for his work on ''Power Man and Iron Fist'' for Marvel Comics and '' Superman'' for DC Comics. Steve Erwin
Steve Erwin (born January 16, 1960) is an American comics artist best known as the co-creator of ''Checkmate'' and ''Gunfire'' for DC Comics. Career Erwin studied commercial art at Oklahoma State University-Okmulgee. He credits Neal Adams' Batman stories and Gene Colan/ Tom Palmer's work on '' Daredevil'' as having "won my heart in junior high to aspiring (dreaming) to be a comic book artist." Dorman and Phyllis Dorman. Both parents are deceased. Dorman is married to award-winning TV/video producer, writer and publicist Denise (McDonald) Dorman of WriteBrain Media.
