''Famous First Words'' is the debut studio album by Canadian country music artist Gil Grand. It was released in June 1998 in Canada by Monument Records. Content ''Famous First Words'' charted four singles on the ''RPM'' charts in Canada. First was the title track at number six in 1998, followed by "Let's Start Livin'", "I Can't Put Your Memory to Bed", and "I Already Fell". Gil Grand (born Gilles Lagrandeur, January 8, 1968) is a Canadian country music singer. Since 1998, he has released three studio albums: '' Famous First Words'' (1998), ''Burnin'' (2002) and ''Somebody's Someone'' (2006). He has charted several singles on the Canadian country singles charts as well, including the ''RPM'' top ten single " Famous First Words" in 1998. Career In 1998, Grand signed a record deal with Monument Records' Nashville division. His debut album, '' Famous First Words'', helped him receive three Canadian Country Music Awards nominations including Male Vocalist of the Year, Album of the Year and Wrangler Rising Star. Monument Records
Monument Records is an American record label in Washington, D.C. named for the Washington Monument, founded in 1958 by Fred Foster, Buddy Deane (a prominent Baltimore disc jockey at WTTG), and business manager Jack Kirby. Buddy Deane soon left the company, and in the early '60s bought KOTN in Pine Bluff, Arkansas, where he lived in retirement until his death. Foster and Kirby relocated to the Nashville suburb of Hendersonville, Tennessee. Monument's releases include a variety of genres including rock and roll, country, jazz, and rhythm and blues. Byron Hill (born December 12, 1953), is an American songwriter from Winston-Salem, North Carolina. Living and working professionally in Nashville, TN for more than forty years, his songs have been recorded by many Country and Pop artists. ''RPM'' ( and later ) was a Canadian music-industry publication that featured song and album charts for Canada. The publication was founded by Walt Grealis in February 1964, supported through its existence by record label owner Stan Klees. ''RPM'' ceased publication in November 2000. ''RPM'' stood for "Records, Promotion, Music". The magazine's title varied over the years, including ''RPM Weekly'' and ''RPM Magazine''. Tony Hiller
Anthony Toby Hiller (30 July 1927 – 26 August 2018) was an English songwriter and record producer. He was best known for writing and/or producing hits for Brotherhood of Man, including " United We Stand" (1970) and "Save Your Kisses for Me" (1976). Biography The eldest of eight children, he was born in Bethnal Green, East London, England. Along with other staff and students from his Jewish Free School in Kenton, London, he was evacuated to Ely, Cambridgeshire, in 1939. Tony Martin is a country music songwriter who has had fifteen number-one hits as a songwriter. Among his compositions are "Third Rock from the Sun" by Joe Diffie, "Just to See You Smile" by Tim McGraw, " You Look Good in My Shirt" by Keith Urban, and "No Place That Far" by Sara Evans.
