False Alarm (band)
''False Alarm'' is an American punk rock band founded in the outskirts of Beverly Hills, Los Angeles, in 1982. History False Alarm started in 1982. Brent Alden, bass player for the band, recalled, "We started calling it False Alarm because we pulled alarms by the Fairfax District". In the early days, the band was not well organized. Membership varied, including Fat Mike, later of NOFX. They were influenced by the Ramones, Dead Boys, Black Flag, Angry Samoans, and Reagan Youth. In 1983 the band broke up. In 1996 the guys started a new version of the band and released some new and old recordings. Beverly Hills High School friends Paul Aragon (lead vocals), Brent Alden (bass), Dylan Maunder (guitar), all original members and new cast member Art Chianello (drummer) joined the band and they started playing shows mainly at Al's Bar, the Anti-Club, and other venues between Los Angeles and San Francisco. Reagan Youth
Reagan Youth is an American anarcho-punk band formed by singer Dave Rubinstein (Dave Insurgent) and guitarist Paul Bakija (Paul Cripple) in Queens, New York City in early 1980. History Initial career (1980–1990) Rubinstein and Bakija attended Forest Hills High School, the same as that of the Ramones, when they formed their band. After rehearsals under the name Pus with a varying rhythm section, the group changed its name to Reagan Youth shortly before playing its first gig on August 22, 1980, with bassist Andy Bryan (Andy Apathy) and drummer Charlie Bonet (Charlie Tripper). Reagan Youth quickly gained a following and were soon playing the punk clubs of Manhattan. Bakija's physics teacher shaved his head at CBGB's one night and after that became associated with the band, hauling equipment in his Dodge Dart. The Mau-Mau's
is a band started by Rick Wilder (formerly the singer of the Berlin Brats). Following the breakup of the glam rock / proto - punk band the Berlin Brats in 1976, two years of inactivity followed before Rick Wilder updated his image and sound to more align in the wake of the Los Angeles original punk scene (that had just begun to get off the ground in 1977) and formed the Mau-Mau's in 1978. The original line-up from Hollywood, California was Greg Salva on guitar, Roderick Donahue on bass, and Rick Torres on drums. They started out playing at The Masque in Hollywood. Salva was replaced by Mike R. Livingston in 1979 after Salva moved to New York City and Donahue was replaced first by Oscar Harvey and then by Scott Franklin (onetime bassist in The Cramps). Social Distortion is an American punk rock band formed in 1978 in Fullerton, California. The band currently consists of Mike Ness (lead vocals, lead guitar), Jonny Wickersham (rhythm guitar, backing vocals), Brent Harding (bass, backing vocals), David Hidalgo Jr. (drums), and David Kalish (keyboards). Starting as a hardcore punk band in the late 1970s to the early 1980s, Social Distortion went on a temporary hiatus in the mid-1980s, due to Ness's drug addiction and troubles with the law which resulted in extended stints in various rehabilitation centers that lasted for two years. Following their reformation, the band has shifted its style to a country, blues and early rock and roll-influenced style of punk. Rocket from the Tombs (or RFTT) is an American rock band originally active from mid-1974 to mid-1975 in Cleveland, Ohio, United States. The band was reconstituted several times with various line-ups starting in 2003. Heralded as an important protopunk group, they were little known during the band's original lifetime, though various members later achieved renown in Pere Ubu and the Dead Boys. Billy Bob Hargus wrote, however, that "The sound of the Rockets is much more ferocious than Ubu or the Dead Boys." Douglas Glenn Colvin (September 18, 1951 – June 5, 2002), better known by his stage name Dee Dee Ramone, was an American musician. He was the bassist and a founding member of the punk rock band Ramones. Throughout the band's existence, he was the most prolific lyricist and composer, writing many of their best-known songs, such as "53rd & 3rd", "Chinese Rock", "Commando", "Wart Hog", " Rockaway Beach", "Poison Heart" and " Bonzo Goes To Bitburg" (also known as "My Brain Is Hanging Upside Down").
