Songs Written By George Young (rock Musician)
A song is a musical composition intended to be performed by the human voice. This is often done at distinct and fixed pitches (melodies) using patterns of sound and silence. Songs contain various forms, such as those including the repetition and variation of sections. Written words created specifically for music, or for which music is specifically created, are called lyrics. If a pre-existing poem is set to composed music in classical music it is an art song. Songs that are sung on repeated pitches without distinct contours and patterns that rise and fall are called chants. Songs composed in a simple style that are learned informally "by ear" are often referred to as folk songs. Songs that are composed for professional singers who sell their recordings or live shows to the mass market are called popular songs. These songs, which have broad appeal, are often composed by professional songwriters, composers, and lyricists. Art songs are composed by trained classical composers fo ... Number-one Singles In Australia
1 (one, unit, unity) is a number representing a single or the only entity. 1 is also a numerical digit and represents a single unit of counting or measurement. For example, a line segment of ''unit length'' is a line segment of length 1. In conventions of sign where zero is considered neither positive nor negative, 1 is the first and smallest positive integer. It is also sometimes considered the first of the infinite sequence of natural numbers, followed by 2, although by other definitions 1 is the second natural number, following 0. The fundamental mathematical property of 1 is to be a multiplicative identity, meaning that any number multiplied by 1 equals the same number. Most if not all properties of 1 can be deduced from this. In advanced mathematics, a multiplicative identity is often denoted 1, even if it is not a number. 1 is by convention not considered a prime number; this was not universally accepted until the mid-20th century. Additionally, 1 is the ... [...More Info...]       [...Related Items...]     OR:     [Wikipedia]   [Google]   [Baidu]   |

The Easybeats Songs
''The'' () is a grammatical article in English, denoting persons or things already mentioned, under discussion, implied or otherwise presumed familiar to listeners, readers, or speakers. It is the definite article in English. ''The'' is the most frequently used word in the English language; studies and analyses of texts have found it to account for seven percent of all printed English-language words. It is derived from gendered articles in Old English which combined in Middle English and now has a single form used with pronouns of any gender. The word can be used with both singular and plural nouns, and with a noun that starts with any letter. This is different from many other languages, which have different forms of the definite article for different genders or numbers. Pronunciation In most dialects, "the" is pronounced as (with the voiced dental fricative followed by a schwa) when followed by a consonant sound, and as (homophone of pronoun ''thee'') when followed by a v ... He was the guitarist, singer, and principal songwriter for the rock band the Velvet Underground and had a solo career that spanned five decades. Although not commercially successful during its existence, the Velvet Underground became regarded as one of the most influential bands in the history of underground and alternative rock music. Reed's distinctive deadpan voice, poetic and transgressive lyrics, and experimental guitar playing were trademarks throughout his long career. Having played guitar and sung in doo-wop groups in high school, Reed studied poetry at Syracuse University under Delmore Schwartz, and had served as a radio DJ, hosting a late-night avant garde music program while at college. Hello, How Are You
"Hello, How Are You" is a 1968 song and single by Australian rock group the Easybeats, which was written by band members George Young and Harry Vanda. Background The choice to release "Hello, How Are You" was that of the band's manager Mike Vaughan. The melodramatic ballad was different from anything the group had previously released (being more known for their power pop songs). Recording first took place at Pye Studios in London. The first version of the song was arranged by Bill Shepard (known for his work with The Bee Gees). This version was more of a psychedelic pop song and was ultimately rejected (it was later released on the reissue of ''The Best of The Easybeats Volume 2'' compilation). For the released version, the band turned to arranger Alan Tew for orchestration. Although the song did make the Top 20 in the UK, in retrospective interviews the band regretted the impact the song had on their career. In a 1976 interview for ''Rolling Stone Australia'', band member G ... [...More Info...]       [...Related Items...]     OR:     [Wikipedia]   [Google]   [Baidu]   |

According to John Tait's book ''Vanda & Young: Inside Australia's Hit factory'', the album was to be titled ''Good Times''. Heaven And Hell (Easybeats Song)
"Heaven and Hell" is a 1967 song and single by Australian rock group The Easybeats, which was written by band members George Young and Harry Vanda. The song marked a changed in style for the group, influenced by the psychedelic and baroque pop of the time. Controversy and releases When the song was released worldwide in June 1967, it ran into censorship problems in some regions. In the U.K. it was banned by the BBC because of references to "discovering someone else in your bed". In the U.S., United Artists feared record stations would also object to the line "discovering someone else in your bed". To play it safe, a censored version was recorded with a replacement line ''"discovering that your love has gone dead"''. The song appeared in Australia, briefly, in censored form but was soon released uncensored. The song performed disappointingly in the U.S and U.K. It charted in the U.S. on the Cashbox and Record World charts at #92 and #96 retrospectively. In the U.K. it reached ...
