Falconbury School
Falconbury School was a prep-school based in Peaks Hill, Surrey England, in the UK. Falconbury's buildings in Surrey became home to The John Fisher School in 1931; a former Catholic Public and Boarding School, latterly (in the 1990s) a highly selective Catholic day school and now a non-selective Catholic comprehensive school for boys. At Peaks Hill, Surrey Peaks Hill at the time, was a rural neighbourhood in North Surrey; it has since merged with the expansion of Croydon, Surrey and these days is more suburban in nature. Peaks Hill, Surrey
Purley is an area of the London Borough of Croydon in London, England, south of Charing Cross, with a history going back at least 800 years. It was originally granted as an estate from holdings at Sanderstead and until as a district of Surrey and then, with neighbouring Coulsdon, as an urban district that became an electoral ward of the London Borough of Croydon, becoming part of the ceremonial county of London, in 1965. The school is located in and funded by the London Borough of Sutton. It occupies the former site of the 19th-century prep school Falconbury School. The school operates as a local standard Roman Catholic Comprehensive School, educating boys mainly from around South and Central Croydon. It has a history of selection, and (as a selective entry grant-maintained school, and before that as a fee-paying boys’ grammar school) has drawn pupils from across London and South East England. The school has operated selective admissions policies twice in its history, from when it was founded in 1929 until 1977, and more recently from 1991 to 2008. Croydon is a large town in South London, south London, England, south of Charing Cross. Part of the London Borough of Croydon, a Districts of England, local government district of Greater London.
