Falcon Education Academies Trust
Falcon Education Academies Trust is a multi-academy trust (MAT) that operates four schools in England. The trust was established in 2019 by the Department for Education. It was conceived as a specialist trust to turn around schools in the North of England with the most challenging educational under performance or financial problems, before transferring them to a permanent sponsor. The schools it takes on are typically ones which other MATs were unwilling to, due to "significant sustainability and infrastructure issues that present too great a risk to a MAT's own sustainability". Its remit was extended to cover all of England in 2021. In 2023, the Department for Education notified the trust that it did not wish to continue the pilot, known as EdMAT, that encompassed Falcon. Oulton Academy
Oulton Academy (formerly Royds Academy, Royds School), founded in 1956, is a co-educational secondary school located in Leeds, West Yorkshire, England. The school serves approximately 1,300 pupils. Royds School was originally a secondary modern and is now a non-selective school serving Rothwell, south Leeds and the surrounding areas. The school originally gained Specialist Language College status in 2003. This was removed in 2014. Rothwell is a town in the south-east of the City of Leeds metropolitan borough in West Yorkshire, England. It is situated between Leeds and Wakefield. Stockton-on-Tees, often simply referred to as Stockton, is a market town in the Borough of Stockton-on-Tees in County Durham, England. Swadlincote is a former mining town in the district of South Derbyshire, England, lying within The National Forest area. The William Allitt Academy
William Allitt Academy (formerly William Allitt School) is a co-educational secondary school located in the village of Newhall, Swadlincote in South Derbyshire, England. The school was founded in 1895 as the Newhall Central Board School, when the Newhall Oversetts and Newhall High Street Board Schools were merged. In 1914, the school was split into separate boys' and girls' schools, but these recombined in 1939. Due to subsidence from mining, it relocated to a new site in 1959, and was renamed after local councillor William Allitt. In 1966, it became a comprehensive school.
