Falaniakos
Falaniakos A.C. ( el, Φαλανιακός Α.Σ.) is a local football (soccer) club based in Falani in Larissa, Greece that was created in 1960. In 1991, Falaniakos participated in the national Fourth Division for a couple of seasons and now it currently participates in the first division of the prefectural Larissa Football Clubs Association. Their team colours are yellow and black. History In the 1920s and the 1930s, youngsters from Falani participated in the soccer club under the name "Falaniakos" and played friendly matches with teams from other areas and it did not have an official character. Falaniakos was formed in 1960 under the name "AC Falaniakos Falanis" and started to play in local championships and later played in higher divisions and entered the first local division in 1970. Larissa Football Clubs Association
The Larissa Football Clubs Association or the LFCA (''Ένωση Ποδοσφαιρικών Σωματείων Λάρισας'', ''ΕΠΣΛ'' = ''Enosi Podosfairikon Somateion Larissas'', ''EPSL'') is a football (soccer) organization in the Larissa prefecture that is part of the Greek Football Federation. LFCA is responsible for organizing the prefectural football (soccer) championships in four divisions (named A, A1 , B and C ) and the LFCA Cup. LFCA also organizes championship and cup competitions for youth and development teams.The LFCA Championship (winner of LFCA A Division) is promoted to the Third National Division, while the LFCA Cup winner enters the Greek Football Amateur Cup. Dimitrios "Takis" Parafestas ( el, Δημήτριος "Τάκης" Παραφέστας; born 16 August 1953) is a Greek former football defender. He started his career from Falaniakos and spent the majority of it with AEL in the Greek Super League. International career Parafestas appeared in one match for the senior Greece national football team, a friendly against East Germany on 15 February 1984. In 2003, when Larissa were playing in Third Division and were in the relegation zone, he was appointed manager of the club, managed to save the club from relegation in the last match of the season after taking a point at Chania in a 3–3 draw against the local club AE Chania. The Gamma Ethniki ( el, Γ΄ Εθνική Ερασιτεχνική Κατηγορία, C National Amateur Division) is the third highest football league in Greece.
