Fakhri Ismail
Mohammad Fakhri bin Ismail (born 6 March 1991) is a Bruneian sprinter and footballer, playing as a striker for Indera SC. He represented his nation Brunei in the men's 100 metres at the 2015 IAAF World Championships in Beijing, China and at the 2016 Summer Olympics in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. Ismail also boasted a national record of 10.59 seconds, which he registered at the 2015 Southeast Asian Games in Singapore. Athletics career At the 2016 Summer Olympics, Fakhri competed for the Bruneian team in the men's 100 metres. He posted a time of 10.92 seconds to progress further from the prelims as one of the eight fastest sprinters of the field, before rounding out the first of eight heats in ninth place with a 10.95, almost half a second shy of his personal best. Bandar Seri Begawan (BSB; Jawi: بندر سري بڬاوان; ) is the capital city of Brunei. It is officially a municipal area () with an area of and an estimated population of 100,700 as of 2007. The 2015 Southeast Asian Games ( ms, Sukan Asia Tenggara 2015; ; ta, 2015 தென்கிழக்கு ஆசிய விளையாட்டுப் போட்டிகள்), officially known as the 28th Southeast Asian Games, or the 28th SEA Games, and commonly known as Singapore 2015, was a Southeast Asian multi-sport event held by the city-state of Singapore from 5 to 16 June 2015, It was the fourth time the country hosted the games. Brunei At The 2016 Summer Olympics
Brunei, officially known as ''Brunei Darussalam'', competed at the 2016 Summer Olympics in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, from 5 to 21 August 2016. This was the nation's seventh appearance at the Summer Olympics since its debut at the 1988 Summer Olympics. Brunei failed to register any athletes in two editions of the Games: 1992 in Barcelona and 2008 in Beijing. The delegation included two sprinters, Mohamed Fakhri Ismail and Maizurah Abdul Rahim, as well as badminton player Jaspar Yu Woon Chai. Yu's appearance made him the country's first Olympic badminton player. All three athletes qualified for the game via wildcard places because they failed to meet their respective qualifying times/rankings. 2016 Summer Olympics Parade Of Nations
During the Parade of Nations within the Rio de Janeiro 2016 Summer Olympics opening ceremony, athletes and officials from each participating team marched in the Maracanã Stadium preceded by their flag and placard bearer. Each flag bearer had been chosen either by the team's National Olympic Committee or by the athletes themselves. Parade order Greece entered first, as the nation of the ancient and first modern Olympic Games. The host nation Brazil marched last. Other teams entered in alphabetical order in the language of the host country (Portuguese), according with tradition and IOC guidelines.
