Faisal Ali, born on 20 October 1999 is an Indian professional footballer who plays as an attacking midfielder or winger for I-League club Churchill Brothers. Career Early career Born in India, Faisal Ali started his professional football career with Bhawanipore FC. He was also part of Bhawanipore which played I-League Qualifiers which held in October 2020. Mohammedan SC On 7 November 2020, Faisal joined I-league club Mohammedan SC on a 2-year deal. On 9 January 2021, Faisal made his debut for Mohammedan and on 58th minute he scored his first goal for the club. Churchill Brothers FC Goa, or simply known as Churchill Brothers, is an Indian professional football club based in Margao, Goa, that competes in the I-League, alongside Goa Professional League. Founded in 1988 in Margao, the club usually participated in the National Football League, then top tier of Indian football league system. The club has won the I-League title twice and has secured a position among the top three teams on nine other occasions in the national league. It has also won eight Goa League Champions Cups, three Durand Cups, and a Federation Cup. Bhowanipore (also Bhowanipur; bn, ভবানীপুর) is a neighbourhood of South Kolkata in Kolkata district of West Bengal, India. History In 1717, the East India Company obtained the right to rent from 38 villages surrounding their settlement from the Mughal emperor Farrukhsiyar. Of these, 5 lay across the Hooghly in what is now Howrah district. The remaining 33 villages were on the Calcutta side. 2022 Durand Cup
The 2022 Durand Cup, also known as IndianOil Durand Cup due to sponsorship ties with Indian Oil Corporation, was the 131st edition of Durand Cup, the oldest football tournament in Asia, and also the first edition since it was recognised by the Asian Football Confederation. This year for the first time the tournament was played in more than one venue. The tournament is hosted by the Durand Football Tournament Society in co-operation with the Eastern Command of the Indian Armed Forces and the Government of West Bengal, supported by the governments Assam and Manipur. The 2021 Calcutta Football League Premier Division A was the 123rd season of the top state-level football league of West Bengal. It was held between mid-August and November of 2021. Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, it was decided to cancel Calcutta League last season, but was played this year.
