Fahir Ersin
Fahir Ersin (February 22, 1929 – April 1, 1988) was a Turkish journalist, intellectual and a proponent of rights of Turkish Migrants in Germany and of Turkish-German relations. He was born in Istanbul, Turkey, as son of Ayshe Sultan from the descendants of the ancient Jandarid dynasty, a regional noble family in Turkey, and of a father of Cypriot origins, Mahir Ersin. He studied Political Sciences and Journalism at the University of Istanbul. He is considered as one of the most respected journalists of his generation in Turkey, known as active proponent of the integration of Turkish migrants in German society. Having been involved in politics during his youth years within the press staff of the Prime Minister's office of Adnan Menderes in 1957, he was Chief Editor of various Turkish newspapers such as '' Adalet'' and ''Son Posta'' in the 1960s, and chief editor of subsequent major Turkish newspapers such as '' Tercuman''. Jandarids
The Isfendiyarids or Isfendiyarid dynasty (Modern Turkish: ''İsfendiyaroğulları'', ''İsfendiyaroğulları Beyliği''), also known as the Beylik of Sinop, Beylik of Isfendiyar (''İsfendiyar Beyliği''), Jandarids or Beylik of Jandar (''Candaroğulları'', ''Candaroğulları Beyliği''), was an Anatolian Turkoman beylik that ruled principally in the regions corresponding to present-day Kastamonu and Sinop provinces of Turkey, also covering parts of Zonguldak, Bartın, Karabük, Samsun, Bolu, Ankara and Çankırı provinces, between 1292 and 1461, in the Black Sea region of modern-day Turkey. Adnan Menderes
Adnan Menderes (; 1899 – 17 September 1961) was a Turkish politician who served as Prime Minister of Turkey between 1950 and 1960. He was one of the founders of the Democrat Party (DP) in 1946, the fourth legal opposition party of Turkey. He was tried and hanged under the military junta after the 1960 coup d'état, along with two other cabinet members, Fatin Rüştü Zorlu and Hasan Polatkan. One of the accusations brought against him was of him ordering the Istanbul pogrom against citizens of Greek ethnicity. He was the last Turkish political leader to be executed after a military coup and is also one of the four political leaders of the Turkish Republic (along with Kemal Atatürk, Süleyman Demirel and Turgut Özal) to have had a mausoleum built in his honour. Bülent Ecevit
Mustafa Bülent Ecevit (; 28 May 1925 – 5 November 2006) was a Turkish politician, statesman, poet, writer, scholar, and journalist, who served as the Prime Minister of Turkey four times between 1974 and 2002. He served as prime minister in 1974, 1977, 1978–1979, and 1999–2002.
