Facundo Hurtado Castellón
Facundo Hurtado Castellón (born November 27, 1950, Oruro) is a Bolivian politician and journalist. Hurtado Castellón represented the journalists at the newspaper ''El Diario'' in the La Paz Press Workers Trade Union (STPLP) and was the STPLP delegate to the Press Workers Federation of Bolivia (FTPB). As of 2002, he served as a member of the editorial board of the newspaper ''El Patriota''.''Directorio: 1997 - 2002''. Oruro, Bolivia
Oruro (Hispanicized spelling) or Uru Uru is a city in Bolivia with a population of 264,683 (2012 calculation), about halfway between La Paz and Sucre in the Altiplano, approximately above sea level. It is Bolivia's fifth-largest city by population, after Santa Cruz de la Sierra, El Alto, La Paz, and Cochabamba. It is the capital of the Department of Oruro and the seat of the Roman Catholic Diocese of Oruro. Oruro has been subject to cycles of boom and bust owing to its dependence on the mining industry, notably tin, tungsten (wolfram), silver and copper. History The city was founded on November 1, 1606, by Don Manuel Castro de Padilla as a silver-mining center in the Urus region. CONDEPA
Conscience of the Fatherland ( es, Conciencia de Patria, abbreviated CONDEPA) was a populist political party in Bolivia in the late 20th century. The party was led by Carlos Palenque. Goals CONDEPA was founded in Tiwanaku on September 21, 1988. The party was primarily based in the La Paz Department. CONDEPA was the first major party in Bolivia that appealed to the cultural identity of the Aymaras, the indigenous majority of the country. It borrowed '' katarista'' symbols and used the wiphala flag. Palenque often used references to Aymara culture in his campaigns. Election history The party won strong support amongst urban poor, amongst Aymaras that had migrated to the urban centres. CONDEPA lost the mayoral post of La Paz in 1995.
