Faceless (1988 Film)
''Faceless'' (french: Les Prédateurs de la nuit) is a 1988 French slasher film directed by Jesús Franco. The film is about Dr. Flamand (Helmut Berger) and his assistant Nathalie (Brigitte Lahaie) who lure unsuspecting victims to use their skin to perform plastic surgery on the doctor's disfigured sister - a plot reminiscent of Franco's earlier film, '' Gritos en la noche'' (1961). Hallen (Telly Savalas) is a New York businessman who hires private detective Sam Morgan ( Chris Mitchum) to find his missing fashion model daughter Barbara (Caroline Munro). Other elements of the story include a Nazi doctor ( Anton Diffring) and a chainsaw/power tool tormentor who are called in by Dr. Flamand. Plot A former patient of Dr. Frank Flamand, a disfigured Mrs. Francoisis, seeks revenge for a botched operation by throwing acid at him, but she misses and catches his sister, Ingrid, full in the face, resulting in severe burns. Jesús Franco
Jesús Franco Manera (12 May 1930 – 2 April 2013) was a Spanish filmmaker, composer, and actor, known as a prolific director of low-budget exploitation film, exploitation and B-movies. In a career spanning from 1959 to 2013, he wrote, directed, produced, acted in, and scored approximately 173 feature films, working both in his native Spain and (during the rule of Francisco Franco) in France, West Germany, Switzerland and Portugal. Additionally, during the 1960s, he made several films in Rio de Janeiro and Istanbul. Biography Of Cuban and Mexican parentage, Franco was born in Madrid, Spain, Madrid and studied at the city's Instituto de Investigaciones y Experiencias Cinematográficas and the Institut des hautes études cinématographiques in Paris. Tilda Thamar (born Matilde Sofía Margarita Abrecht; 7 December 1921 – 12 April 1989) was an Argentine actor. She was born in Entre Rios Province, Argentina, in 1921. She was married to Spanish portrait painter Alejo Vidal-Quadras and divorced in 1971. Thamar and Vidal-Quadras lived in Paris, France. Thamar was killed in a car accident in Clermont-en-Argonne, Meuse, in the Lorraine region of France in 1989.
