Faceboyz Folliez
Faceboyz Folliez is a variety show presented the first Sunday of each month at the Bowery Poetry Club in New York City's Lower East Side. The show usually combines a variety of acts including readings by numerous published authors, burlesque performers, live music, underground movies and an audience participation segment. Produced and hosted by actor and performer Faceboy, which the show is named after, it features a core cast consisting of Rev. Jen Miller, Velocity Chyaldd, Stormy Leather, Amanda Whip and Paaje Flash. The event is notable as well for the original short films produced by ASS Studios, a production company Faceboy is directly affiliated with, which are all directed by underground filmmaker Courtney Fathom Sell. Inspired by the famed Folies Bergère of Paris, the cast of Faceboyz Folliez present a show that is usually as daring as the Folies Bergère was considered to be in its time. Bowery Poetry Club

Lower East Side
The Lower East Side, sometimes abbreviated as LES, is a historic neighborhood in the southeastern part of Manhattan in New York City. It is located roughly between the Bowery and the East River from Canal to Houston streets. Underground Film
An underground film is a film that is out of the mainstream either in its style, genre or financing. Faceboy
Francis "Faceboy" Hall is an actor, producer, and activist working in the New York City arts community. Hall, the younger brother of poet and King Missile frontman, John S. Hall, is one of the founding members of the Art Stars. Hall has appeared in numerous stage productions and several films, including Robert Downey Sr.'s ''Too Much Sun'' and the television series 'Electra Elf'. In addition, Hall was a founding member of the Dance Liberation Front where he has worked to overturn New York City's "no dancing" cabaret laws. A poet and performer himself, Faceboy is best known as the host of the weekly Faceboyz Open Mic, which is now considered to be the longest continually running open mic in New York. He hosted 'Faceboyz Folliez', a monthly show that took place at the Bowery Poetry Club. Folies Bergère
The Folies Bergère () is a cabaret music hall, located in Paris, France. Located at 32 Rue Richer in the 9th Arrondissement, the Folies Bergère was built as an opera house by the architect Plumeret. It opened on 2 May 1869 as the Folies Trévise, with light entertainment including operettas, comic opera, popular songs, and gymnastics. It became the Folies Bergère on 13 September 1872, named after nearby Rue Bergère. The house was at the height of its fame and popularity from the 1890s' ''Belle Époque'' through the 1920s. Revues featured extravagant costumes, sets and effects, and often nude women. In 1926, Josephine Baker, an African-American expatriate singer, dancer and entertainer, caused a sensation at the Folies Bergère by dancing in a costume consisting of a skirt made of a string of artificial bananas and little else. Jonathan Ames
Jonathan Ames (; born March 23, 1964) is an American author who has written a number of novels and comic memoirs, and is the creator of two television series, ''Bored to Death'' (HBO) and ''Blunt Talk'' (STARZ). In the late '90s and early 2000s, he was a columnist for the ''New York Press'' for several years, and became known for self-deprecating tales of his sexual misadventures. He also has a long-time interest in boxing, appearing occasionally in the ring as "The Herring Wonder". Two of his novels have been adapted into films: '' The Extra Man'' in 2010, and ''You Were Never Really Here'' in 2017.
