Fabulous Ladies F.C. is a Ghanaian professional women's football club based in Kumasi in the Ashanti Region of Ghana. The club was formed by Habiba Atta Forson in 1985. The club is a founding member of the Ghana Women’s Premier League, the top level women's football league in Ghana and have been featuring in the league since 2012. Ghana Women’s Premier League
The Ghana Women’s Premier League (GWPL), currently known as the Malta Guinness Women's Premier League for sponsorship reasons, was launched in 2012 as the National Women's League (NWL) and is the top division league for women's football in Ghana. Contested by 18 clubs in two zones (southern and northern zone), it operates on a system of promotion and relegation with the Ghana Women's Division One. Seasons run from December to July with each team playing 16 matches (playing all 8 other teams in their zone both home and away). Most games are played on Saturday and Sunday afternoons. In November 2021, Hilary Boateng was appointed by the Ghana Football Association as the chairperson of the Women's Premier League Committee. Habiba Atta Forson
Habiba Atta Forson (born 18 August) is a Ghanaian veteran football administrator and a former track and field athlete for Ghana. On 24 October 2019, she contested and won a slot to serve on the Executive Council of the Ghana Football Association, making her the only woman currently serving on the Ghana Football Association's executive council. She is known for being the first person to introduce women's football in Ghana. She is also the founder of Fabulous Ladies, one of the popular women football team in Ghana. Early life Forson started her basic school education at Yaa Achiaa Girls Basic in Kumasi, where she started developing the love for sports. She proceeded to T.I. Ahmadiyya Senior High School, Kumasi where she continued to nurture and develop her skill in high jump and other field events. Opoku Ware II
Otumfuo Opoku Ware II (born Jacob Matthew Poku, 30 November 1919 – 26 February 1999) was the 15th Asantehene. He succeeded his uncle Osei Tutu Agyeman Prempeh II on the 27th July 1970. He ruled for 29 years until his death in February 1999. He was succeeded by Otumfuo Nana Osei Tutu II. Early life and education The future monarch was born under the name Jacob Matthew Poku in Kumasi the capital of Ashanti Region, Ashanti, then the Ashanti Protectorate, in 1919 into the Ashanti royal family. At the time, Prempeh I was Asantehene, as the Ashanti Emperor-King is called, before being succeeded by his nephew Osei Tutu Agyeman Prempeh II, Prempeh II in 1931.
