Fabrizio Tabaton
Fabrizio Tabaton (born 16 May 1955) is an Italian former rally driver. Racing career European Rally Championship Competing for the H.F. Grifone team, he had his biggest successes in the European Rally Championship, which he won with a Lancia Delta S4 in 1986, and with a Lancia Delta Integrale and a Delta HF 4WD in 1988. He also finished runner-up twice; in 1985 to Dario Cerrato and in 1991 to Piero Liatti. In 1990, Tabaton placed third in the championship. Italian Rally Championship In the Italian Rally Championship, he captured the title in 1985 with a Lancia Rally 037 and in 1987 with a Delta HF 4WD. World Rally Championship In the World Rally Championship, Tabaton competed at his home event, the Rallye Sanremo, seven times. Yves Loubet (aka Publimmo) is a French rally driver born on October 31, 1958 in Mostaganem (Mostaganem, former French Algeria). His son Pierre-Louis Loubet is also rally driver. Career He started racing in 1976 on an Opel Kadett. He has participated in the Tour de Corse (2nd in 1987 and 1988 on Lancia Delta HF 4WD and Integrale official Martini Racing, 3rd in 1986 on Alfa Romeo GTV6 Group A, following the tragic accident of Henri Toivonen and the withdrawal of the other official Lancia, as well as participation in the Rallye San Remo and Monte Carlo. The Peugeot 206 WRC is a World Rally Car based on the Peugeot 206. It was used by Peugeot Sport, Peugeot's factory team, in the World Rally Championship from 1999 to 2003. The car brought Peugeot the manufacturers' world title three years in a row from 2000 to 2002. Marcus Grönholm won the drivers' title in 2000 and 2002. Wales Rally GB was the most recent iteration of the United Kingdom's premier international motor rally, which ran under various names since the first event held in 1932. It was consistently a round of the FIA World Rally Championship (WRC) calendar from the inaugural 1973 season until the rally's final running in 2019, and was also frequently included in the British Rally Championship. The first rallies in the 1930s were simply known as Royal Automobile Club (RAC) Rallies and did not necessarily require leaving England. In 1951 the club organised the first annual RAC International Rally of Great Britain to tour the island, and until the 53rd event in 1997 this was still commonly known as the RAC Rally. The Toyota Corolla WRC is a World Rally Car built for the Toyota Castrol Team by Toyota Motorsport GmbH to compete in the World Rally Championship. It is based upon the E110 version of Toyota Corolla road car. The car was debuted at the 1997 Rally Finland, and replaced the Toyota Celica Turbo ST205. It won a total of four rally victories and the 1999 World Manufacturers' title. 1984 World Rally Championship Season
The 1984 World Rally Championship was the 12th season of the Fédération Internationale de l'Automobile (FIA) World Rally Championship (WRC). The season consisted of 12 rallies following the same schedule as the previous season. Stig Blomqvist beat the defending world champion and Audi teammate Hannu Mikkola to the drivers' title. Audi took their second manufacturers' title, ahead of Lancia and the debuting Peugeot. Summary German team Audi Sport put together four of the top drivers in the world, with the defending world champion Hannu Mikkola returning to the team along with Stig Blomqvist. World Rally Championship
The World Rally Championship (abbreviated as WRC) is the highest level of global competition in the motorsport discipline of rallying, owned and governed by the FIA. There are separate championships for drivers, co-drivers, manufacturers and teams. The series currently consists of 13 three to four-day rally events driven on surfaces ranging from gravel and tarmac to snow and ice. Each rally is usually split into 15–25 special stages which are run against the clock on up to 350 kilometres of closed roads. Drivers Sébastien Loeb, Sébastien Ogier, Juha Kankkunen, Tommi Mäkinen and Colin McRae all became WRC champions.
