FM Derana
FM Derana is Free-to-air Sinhala radio channel in Sri Lanka. Established in March 2009, FM Derana broadcasts 24 hours a day and it covers over 95% of the Island. Designed to appeal to a broad cross-section of listeners, FM Derana is leveraged on the strength and success of Derana TV, a strategic consolidation that will revolutionize the media landscape with its simple yet highly entertaining format. Currently FM Derana holds the No 1 position among all radio channels in Sri Lanka. The channel had maintained this No 1 position for the past three years in a row. 2011 Cricket World Cup
The 2011 ICC Cricket World Cup was the tenth Cricket World Cup. It was played in India, Sri Lanka, and for the first time in Bangladesh. India won the tournament, defeating Sri Lanka by 6 wickets in the final at Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai, thus becoming the first country to win the Cricket World Cup final on home soil. India's Yuvraj Singh was declared the man of the tournament. This was the first time in World Cup history that two Asian teams had appeared in the final. It was also the first time since the 1992 World Cup that the final match did not feature Australia. Fourteen national cricket teams took part in this tournament, including 10 full members and four associate members of the International Cricket Council (ICC). List Of 2011 Cricket World Cup Broadcasting Rights
International Cricket Council sold its rights of broadcasting for 2011 Cricket World Cup for around US$2 Billion to ESPN Star Sports. It would be broadcasting all around the world in about 220 countries. For the first time, the Cricket World Cup will be broadcast in High Definition (HD) format.
