Football League Cup
The EFL Cup (referred to historically, and colloquially, as the League Cup), currently known as the Carabao Cup for sponsorship reasons, is an annual knockout competition and major trophy in men's domestic football in England. Organised by the English Football League (EFL), it is open to any club within the top four levels of the English football league system92 clubs in totalcomprising the top level Premier League, and the three divisions of the English Football League's own league competition ( Championship, League One and League Two). First held in 1960–61 as the Football League Cup, it is one of the three top-tier domestic football competitions in England, alongside the Premier League and FA Cup. It concludes in February, long before the other two, which end in May. It was introduced by the league as a response to the increasing popularity of European football, and to also exert power over the FA. It also took advantage of the roll-out of floodlights, allowing the ...

Full Load Current
Inrush current, input surge current, or switch-on surge is the maximal instantaneous input current drawn by an electrical device when first turned on. Alternating-current electric motors and transformers may draw several times their normal full-load current when first energized, for a few cycles of the input waveform. Power converters also often have inrush currents much higher than their steady-state currents, due to the charging current of the input capacitance. The selection of over-current-protection devices such as fuses and circuit breakers is made more complicated when high inrush currents must be tolerated. The over-current protection must react quickly to overload or short-circuit faults but must not interrupt the circuit when the (usually harmless) inrush current flows. Capacitors A discharged or partially charged capacitor appears as a short circuit to the source when the source voltage is higher than the potential of the capacitor. A fully discharged capacitor will tak ...

Front De Liberation Du Champa
The Cham (Cham: ''Čaṃ'') or Champa people (Cham: , ''Urang Campa''; vi, Người Chăm or ; km, ជនជាតិចាម, ) are an Austronesian ethnic group. From the 2nd century to 1832 the Cham populated Champa, a contiguous territory of independent principalities in central and southern Vietnam. They spoke the Cham language and the Tsat language (the former is still spoken by the Cham, and the latter is spoken by their Utsul descendants, on China’s Hainan Island), two Chamic languages from the Malayo-Polynesian group of the Austronesian family. Chams and Malays are the only sizable Austronesian peoples that settled in Iron Age mainland Southeast Asia among the more ancient Austroasiatic inhabitants. History For a long time, researchers believed that the Chams had arrived by sea in the first millennium BC from Sumatra, Borneo and the Malay Peninsula, eventually settling in central modern Vietnam. The original Cham are therefore the likely heirs of Au ...

Free Light Chains
Immunoglobulin light chains that are circulatory system, circulating in serum in a free (unbound) state are called free light chains (FLCs). Measurement of the serum level of FLCs became practical as a clinical blood test in recent decades. These tests are used as an aid in the diagnosis and monitoring of multiple myeloma and related disorders. There are two types of immunoglobulin light chain produced in humans, designated by the Greek letters kappa (κ) and lambda (λ). Comparing the ratio of κ FLCs to λ FLCs in a person's serum against reference ranges indicates whether that person may have a plasma cell tumour such as multiple myeloma or AL amyloidosis. Structure Each immunoglobulin light-chain molecule contains approximately 220 amino acids in a single polypeptide chain that is folded to form constant and variable region domains. Each domain comprises two β-pleated sheets. The sheets are linked by a disulfide bridge and together form a roughly barrel-shaped structure kn ...

Forming Limit Curve
A forming limit diagram, also known as a forming limit curve, is used in sheet metal forming for predicting forming behavior of sheet metal. The diagram attempts to provide a graphical description of material failure tests, such as a punched dome test. In order to determine whether a given region has failed, a mechanical test is performed. The mechanical test is performed by placing a circular mark on the work piece prior to deformation, and then measuring the post-deformation ellipse that is generated from the action on this circle. By repeating the mechanical test to generate a range of stress states, the formability limit diagram can be generated as a line at which failure is onset (see also formability). Description The semi-axes of the ellipse formed in this circle allow for the measurement of relative strain in two primary directions, known as the major and minor directions, which correspond to the major and minor semi-axes of the ellipse. Under the assumption of path in ...

Forest Lake Camp
Forest Lake Camp (FLC) is a summer camp located just north of Lake George, in the Southern Adirondack Mountains of New York. History "Forest Lake Camp for Boys" was opened as a boys-only camp in 1926 by Harold T. Confer, who was the athletic director at Freeport, New York, High School on Long Island. One year before the camp opened, he had bought over of land around Forest Lake. In the property were a farmhouse and an inn that are still there to this day. The land was originally crossed by an old stagecoach route from Chestertown, New York, to Saratoga Springs, New York. By 1954 Harold Confer's son Philip began running the camp alongside his wife, Sally. The couple ran the camp for 32 years. During this time, they bought over 200 additional acres on the other side of the lake, thus acquiring all the land surrounding the lake. In 1984 Philip's son Gary took over the camp. In 1990, the camp stopped being a boys only camp and opened "Forest Lake Camp for Girls". Since then ...

Flowering Locus C
Flowering Locus C (''FLC'') is a MADS-box gene that in late-flowering ecotypes of the plant '' Arabidopsis thaliana'' is responsible for vernalization. In a new seedling ''FLC'' is expressed, which prevents flowering. Upon exposure to cold, less ''FLC'' is expressed (to a degree depending on the amount of cold), and flowering becomes possible. ''FLC'' is extensively regulated through epigenetic modifications and transcriptional control. The expression of ''FLC'' is affected by other genes including '' FLK'', '' FCA'' and '' VERNALIZATION2'' (''VRN2''). Wild ''Arabidopsis'' plants have different allele An allele (, ; ; modern formation from Greek ἄλλος ''állos'', "other") is a variation of the same sequence of nucleotides at the same place on a long DNA molecule, as described in leading textbooks on genetics and evolution. ::"The chro ...s for the ''FLC'' gene, which correspond to ecotypes which either (a) flower rapidly and produce a number of generations during one ...
