FK Proleter Zrenjanin
Fudbalski klub Proleter Zrenjanin () is a football club from the city of Zrenjanin, Vojvodina, Serbia. History Early period Soon after World War II, the club almost achieved promotion to the Yugoslav Second League after finishing top of the regional Serbian League (a 3rd tier back then). The most important footballers responsible for this were Hirman, Kirćanski and Herceg. They didn't win the qualification matches, but in the next season, they ended up selected to participate in the Third national League, after a league system reorganisation. The following year, in 1951, the club achieved the quarter-finals of the Yugoslav Cup. Those matches against Dinamo Zagreb were played by Cikoš, Mosorinski, Ninkov, Vinčić, Prodanović, Davidović, Sokolovački, Kirćanski, Radojčić, Ajnberger and Petrov. FK Banat Zrenjanin
FK Banat Zrenjanin () was a football club based in Zrenjanin, Vojvodina, Serbia. History The club was founded in June 2006 by the merger of Budućnost Banatski Dvor and Proleter Zrenjanin. They started competing in the Serbian SuperLiga in the competition's inaugural 2006–07 season, managing to avoid relegation. Moreover, the club's striker Srđan Baljak became the league's top scorer with 18 goals. They also reached the 2006–07 Serbian Cup semi-finals, being eliminated by Vojvodina. Later on, the club spent two more seasons in the top flight of the national league system, before finishing bottom of the table in 2009, thus suffering relegation to the Serbian First League. The 1999–2000 First League of FR Yugoslavia was the eighth season of the FR Yugoslavia's top-level football league since its establishment. It was contested by 21 teams, and Red Star Belgrade won the championship. Incidents The season was marred by a tragic event on 30 October 1999, during the Partizan vs. Red Star tie (113th edition of the Večiti derbi) when seventeen-year-old Red Star fan Aleksandar "Aca" Radović from Opovo was killed by a signalling rocket fired from within the stadium. Radović, a third-year student at the First Belgrade Gymnasium, was supporting his team from the Partizan Stadium's north end when in 20th minute of the match he got hit in the chest by a flare gun-fired signaling rocket from the opposite end of the stadium, which is where Partizan fans were located. The 1998–99 First League of FR Yugoslavia was the seventh season of the FR Yugoslavia's top-level football league since its establishment. It was contested by 18 teams, and Partizan won the championship (declared on 12 June 1999). The championship was stopped on 14 May 1999, because of the NATO bombing of Yugoslavia, after 24 rounds. 1997–98 First League Of FR Yugoslavia
The 1997–98 First League of FR Yugoslavia was the sixth season of the FR Yugoslavia's top-level football league since its establishment. Overview The league was divided into 2 groups, A and B, consisting each of 10 clubs. Both groups were played in league system. By winter break all clubs in each group meet each other twice, home and away, with the bottom four classified from A group moving to the group B, and being replaced by the top four from the B group. At the end of the season because the two groups league format was being abandoned for the next season and replaced by a single league consisting of 16 clubs, more clubs were relegated, six, and only the two first classified from the Second League of FR Yugoslavia would be promoted. 1991–92 Yugoslav First League
The First League of Yugoslavia's 1991/1992 season was the 64th edition of the Yugoslav First League, the premier football club competition of SFR Yugoslavia. It was the last edition in which professional football teams from SR Bosnia and Herzegovina (with one exception) and SR Macedonia participated, as well as the last of the SFR Yugoslavia in general as the First League of FR Yugoslavia was established the following season. Red Star Belgrade won the competition. Before the start of the season, Croatia and Slovenia were already in the process of seeking independence from Yugoslavia. Teams from Croatia and Slovenia that qualified for the competition left it before the season started. 1990–91 Yugoslav First League
The 1990–91 Yugoslav First League season was the 45th season of the First Federal League ( sh, Prva savezna liga), the top level association football competition of SFR Yugoslavia, since its establishment in 1946. The title was won by Red Star Belgrade, the club's 18th in its history. It also turned out to be the last season in which teams from SR Croatia and SR Slovenia participated. The 1989–90 Yugoslav Second League season was the 44th season of the Second Federal League ( sh, Druga savezna liga), the second level association football competition of SFR Yugoslavia, since its establishment in 1946. Teams A total of twenty teams contested the league, including fourteen sides from the 1988–89 season, two clubs relegated from the 1988–89 Yugoslav First League and four sides promoted from the Inter-Republic Leagues played in the 1988–89 season. The league was contested in a double round robin format, with each club playing every other club twice, for a total of 38 rounds.
