FK Daşqın Zaqatala
FK Daşqın Zaqatala () was an Azerbaijani football club from Zaqatala founded in 1968, and dissolved in 1993. They participated in the Azerbaijan Top Division twice, 1992 and 1993, finishing 17th and then 6th. Gurban Gurbanov was the club's top goalscorer during this period with 24 goals, but the club folded at the end of the '93 season due to financial difficulties. Zaqatala (, , Tsakhur language, Tsakhur: ''Гал'') is a city in northwestern Azerbaijan and the administrative center of the Zagatala District. It has a municipal population of 31,300 inhabitants and is located on the Tala River. The municipality consists of the city of Zaqatala and the nearby village of Qazangül. The city is populated mostly by Azerbaijanis, but with significant minorities of the indigenous Caucasian Avars, Avar, Lezgins, Lezgin, Tsakhur people, Tsakhur and Ingiloys, Ingiloy peoples. Gurban Gurbanov
Gurban Osman oghlu Gurbanov (; born 13 April 1972) is an Azerbaijani football manager and former player who manages Qarabag. He played as a forward. Starting out with local club Kur in 1988, Gurbanov had a decorated 18-year career. He scored 178 goals in 399 league matches. With 14 goals in 68 matches, he is also the Azerbaijan national team's all-time leading goalscorer in international matches. From 2017 to 2018 he was the manager of the Azerbaijan national team. Gurbanov has won a total of 21 trophies, five as a player and 16 as a manager. The Azerbaijan First League () is the second highest professional division in Azerbaijani professional football. The league is run by AFFA. The winner promotes to Premier Division. In its original form, it started in 1936, when Azerbaijan was a republic of the Soviet Union and it was not disputed by Azerbaijani teams in the Soviet league pyramid. The 1992 Azerbaijan Top League was the first season of the Azerbaijan Top League, since their independence from the USSR in August 1991, and was contested by 26 clubs. The Season took place between 3 May and 30 October 1992 and was won by Neftchi Baku, with six teams being relegated to the Azerbaijan First Division for the 1993 season. 1993 Azerbaijan Top League
The 1993 Azerbaijan Top League was the second season of the Azerbaijan Top League and was contested by 20 clubs with 2 points awarded for a win, 1 for a draw and no points were awarded for a defeat. Neftchi Baku were unable to defend their championship, with Karabakh Agdam becoming the champions. The 20 participating teams where divided into two groups of 10, and faced each other twice. The top two clubs at the end of the 18 games qualified for the championship play-off matches, whilst the bottom three clubs were relegated. However Nefteqaz were spared relegation after Daşqın Zaqatala were relegated due to their financial problems.
