FK Car Konstantin (Serbian Cyrillic: ФК Цар Константин) is a football club based in Niš, Serbia. The clubs competes in the 2018-19 season in the Serbian League East, 3rd national tier. Name origin The name comes in honour of the Roman Emperor Constantine the Great that was born precisely in Niš, then called Naisus. He was the first Roman Emperor to accept Christianity initiating the expansion of the faith throughout the "civilized world". The neighbouring areas of Bubanj, Ledena stena and the Rail station were formed mostly by the railway workers. From 1860 on the railway workers chosen as the traditional Serbian slava (the celebration of a patron Saint) the St. Emperor Constantin and Empress Helena and celebrated on June 3 of each year. Serbian League East ( Serbian: Српска лига Исток / Srpska liga Istok) is one of four sections of the Serbian League, the third national tier. The other three sections are Serbian League Belgrade, Serbian League Vojvodina and Serbian League West. It is also the highest regional league for the eastern part of Serbia. The league was founded in 2003 following a merger between the Serbian League Niš and the Serbian League Timok. The Serbian Cyrillic alphabet ( sr, / , ) is a variation of the Cyrillic script used to write the Serbian language, updated in 1818 by Serbian linguist Vuk Karadžić. Emperor Constantine
Constantine I ( , ; la, Flavius Valerius Constantinus, ; ; 27 February 22 May 337), also known as Constantine the Great, was Roman emperor from AD 306 to 337, the first one to convert to Christianity. Bubanj ( sr-Cyrl, Бубањ; or as it is often called ''Bubanj Selo'' (), because the city district of the city of Niš called ''Bubanj'') is a village in the municipality of Palilula, City of Niš, Serbia. According to the 2002 census its population was 516 inhabitants (census 1991st was 441 inhabitants). It is famous for its World War II Bubanj Memorial Park, Historic Landmark of Exceptional Importance.
