Planica Nordic Centre
The Planica Nordic Centre ( sl, Nordijski center Planica) is a nordic skiing complex located in Planica, Slovenia. It consists of one ski flying hill, seven ski jumping hills, and a cross-country skiing track. It is the only nordic centre in the world with eight ski jumping hills. The complex was officially opened in December 2015. Ski jumping hills There are a total of eight ski jumping hills at the Planica Nordic Centre. The complex consists of one ski flying hill, one large hill, one normal hill, and five smaller hills intended for youth ski jumpers and children. Letalnica bratov Gorišek Letalnica bratov Gorišek is the biggest of eight hills located at the Planica Nordic Centre, and is used for ski flying events. It was built in 1969 by Vlado and Janez Gorišek. Since its opening, a total of 28 world records were set at the venue. Emil Iversen (born 12 August 1991) is a Norwegian Cross-country skiing (sport), cross-country skier who represents IL Varden. He is 2019 World Champion in team sprint and 4 × 10 km relay. Athletic career ;2010/11 Iversen was junior world champion in the relay in 2011 with Sindre Bjørnestad Skar, Mathias Rundgreen and Erik Bergfall Brovold. He debuted in the FIS Cross-Country World Cup in Lillehammer on 7 December 2013. ;2015/16 Iversen won his first World Cup stage race on 5 January 2016 in the classic sprint stage of the Tour de Ski in Oberstdorf. Bede ( ; ang, Bǣda , ; 672/326 May 735), also known as Saint Bede, The Venerable Bede, and Bede the Venerable ( la, Beda Venerabilis), was an English monk at the monastery of St Peter and its companion monastery of St Paul in the Kingdom of Northumbria of the Angles (contemporarily Monkwearmouth–Jarrow Abbey in Tyne and Wear, England). Olivier Léveillé (born 15 March 2001) is a Canadian cross-country skier. Career Junior At the 2020 Nordic Junior World Ski Championships in Oberwiesenthal, Germany, Léveillé was part of the quartet who won silver in the 4 × 5 kilometre relay event, becoming the first Canadians to win a relay medal at the event. The following year Léveillé won bronze in the 10 kilometre freestyle event, becoming only the third Canadian to win an individual medal in the history of the event. Senior Léveillé made his senior debut as part of the 2021–22 FIS Cross-Country World Cup in Ruka, Finland. Thomas Hjalmar Maloney Westgård (born 10 October 1995) is a Norwegian-Irish cross-country skier who competes for Ireland internationally. Westgård was born and grew up in Leka, Norway. His father is Norwegian, and his mother is Irish, and he is a dual citizen of Ireland and Norway. He began skiing competitively in Norway at age 16 or 17. In the summer of 2016, he began representing Ireland in the World Cup. Westgård had begun his nationality transfer process in 2014, and was assisted in the process by Rory Morrish, the head of the Irish Skiing Federation. In local competitions in Norway, he represents the ski club Steinkjer SK in Steinkjer, Norway. Westgård's mother's family name is Maloney, and the Snowsports Association of Ireland refer to him as Thomas Maloney Westgaard.
