Shirahatayama Open Stadium is a cross-country skiing (sport), cross-country skiing venue in Sapporo, Japan. It was opened in 1990 and was Asia's first FIS-certified course. The course is approximately 25 km and wraps around Mt. Shirahata. The venue hosted the 1990 Asian Winter Games, 1991 Winter Universiade and the FIS Nordic World Ski Championships 2007. Yevgeniya Vladimirovna Medvedeva (russian: Евге́ния Влади́мировна Медве́дева-Арбу́зова; born 4 July 1976 in Kondopoga, Karelian ASSR) is a Russian cross-country skier who has competed since 1996. Competing in two Winter Olympics, she won two medals at Turin in 2006 with a gold in the 4 × 5 km relay and a bronze in the 7.5 km + 7.5 km double pursuit. Sara Lindborg (born 30 November 1983) is a Swedish cross-country skier who has competed since 2002. Her best World Cup finish was second twice, both in the 4 × 5 km relay in France (2006, 2008). Antonella Confortola Wyatt (born 16 October 1975) is an Italian former cross-country skier and mountain runner. Biography Confortola was born in Cavalese. She is the granddaughter of Italian cross-country skier and Olympian Silvio Confortola. Cross-country skiing Confortola competed at the Olympics four times between 1998 and 2010. Marit Bjørgen (born 21 March 1980) is a former Norwegian cross-country skier. She is ranked first in the all-time Cross-Country World Cup rankings with 114 individual victories. Bjørgen is also the most successful sprinter in Cross-Country World Cup history, with 29 victories. She headed the medal table at the 2010 Winter Olympics by winning five medals, including three gold. Vibeke Westbye Skofterud (20 April 1980 – 29 July 2018) was a Norwegian cross-country skier. She won gold in the 4 × 5 km relay at Vancouver in 2010. Her best individual finish at the Winter Olympics was eighth in the 30 km event at Salt Lake City in 2002. Skofterud won a complete set of 4 × 5 km relay medals at the FIS Nordic World Ski Championships (gold: 2005, gold: 2011, silver: 2003, bronze: 2007) and earned her best individual finish of 13th in the 5 km + 5 km double pursuit in 2003. Justyna Maria Kowalczyk-Tekieli (born 19 January 1983) is a Polish cross-country skier who has been competing since 2000. Kowalczyk is a double Olympic Champion and a double World Champion. She is also the only skier to win the Tour de Ski four times in a row and one of two female skiers (the other being Finn Marjo Matikainen) to win the FIS Cross-Country World Cup three times in a row.
